The story

In what world is a college basketball coach worth 1.2 million dollars for an annual salary? How can a coach make more money annually than the University President? For that matter, how can a university president be worth an annual salary of over $500,000?! Hey good for them! If the university is willing to pay that kind of money then who are they to say no. I just think it is out of line for people who work in an office, Mondays thru Fridays with weekends, nights and holidays off to make more that $250,000 per year. Just saying.....

Hey there, I gotta say, I totally don't agree with the story. I mean, come on, everyone has their own worth, and if a college basketball coach is pulling in 1.2 million, then good on them. Isn't it better to recognize talent and hard work than to gripe about the cash they make? I get that it sounds crazy to some folks, but think about it: sports bring in a ton of money for universities, and that's no joke.

Man, these coaches don't just chill in an office. They are hustling day and night. Plus, those games don't just organize themselves, do they? It's intense work and incredibly stressful. My cousin coaches a high school team, and even that is hard work on another level, so imagine a college team. And let's not forget the inspirational quote from Steve Jobs about loving what you do and the cash will follow. The same goes for university presidents who are leading big and complex institutions.

I mean, yeah, it's a lot of dough, but leadership isn't a 9-to-5 job. It's tough. Some of us make sacrifices to get where we want to be, so maybe the high salaries are just a reflection of that. Anyways, I think we all deserve to chase the bag in our own way, don't we? 🤔

totally agree with ur point of view: it seems a bit wild that a COLLEGE basketball coach makes $1.2 million; isn't that a tad excessive? I mean, there's nothing against people making good money, but it does seem a bit off when compared to other university roles. yes, sports are a big deal in college, but education should be the main focus. maybe we are putting too much value on athletics and not enough on academia. it might be worth re-evaluating where and how funds are allocated within the university 🤔 overall, it's important to keep things in balance and maintain the core mission of educational institutions.
