hypothetical situation
The story
i’ve been losing myself in hypothetical situations more and more these days??? like, i constantly find my mind wandering to these detailed 'what if' scenarios! sometimes they’re about small things, like imagining what could happen if i got a flat tire on the way to work. sometimes they get big, too. i start thinking about huge life events: switching careers, unexpected family gatherings, or even spontaneous trips abroad!!! that’s wild, am i right? but then...while i'm getting into all these imaginary scenes so vividly in my head (even planning outcomes and mapping strategies), real life passes by unnoticed; there was this one time i missed most of what my friend was saying during dinner because i imagined us dealing with an earthquake at the restaurant😅; funny right??? it affects my focus in ways i hadn’t realized before. it's causing some anxiety as well; what ifs can be endless and unproductive when overdone. how do you stop yourself from constantly drifting away like that? venting here seems right because putting it down makes it clearer (at least a bit). does this resonate with anyone else here???? so many questions keep revolving around me... and sometimes i just want to appreciate what's actually happening around me without needing to fic up the details or fading into daydreams altogether.
