The story

My family are big on surprises🥳!! But thanks for Amazons new policy... The private lists when shopping aren't there😱! So, let's say I wanna buy my cousin an F1(race car sport) T-shirt from Amazon as a surprise... He'd see what I bought thanks to Amazon getting rid of the anonymity of who's buy the item and what item is being bought😭!!

This s*cks man🫠!!

Man, that really puts a damper on trying to keep things under wraps!

I discover that thx to you, I didn't know this change 😬

Dude, I gotta say, I'm not sure this is such a big deal? Like, come on; it's not the end of the world if your cousin sees what you're planning to buy them😅. I mean, surprises are nice and all, but it won't kill them to know they're getting something cool either! Actually, wouldn't it make things easier for you to just talk to them about what they want and avoid any unnecessary drama or awkwardness??? Just chill out a bit--not everything has to be a shocker!

Have you considered using a different platform or maybe even buying the item in person as an alternative way to keep the surprise element intact?

Or jut keep a list in a notepad 😁

man, that’s such a bummer 😔! i feel you on the surprise thing. amazon changing things up like that totally ruins the fun element of gift-giving. it’s like they’re making it impossible to keep anything under wraps anymore. maybe it's time to get creative with how you surprise your cousin... like buying stuff from another platform or doing some sneaky offline shopping 😂!

It's quite perplexing, isn't it? I understand your frustration with the new policy shift that Amazon has implemented; it's such a departure from the customer privacy norms we've grown accustomed to 😯

Hey, I get that it might be annoying to have surprises ruined, but maybe there's a silver lining here??? You could see this as a chance to make gift-giving more personal by involving your cousin in the process from the start! Think about how much cooler it could be to plan something together and truly get them what they want. Plus, having a laugh with them over the change could add some unexpected fun to the whole experience! Just roll with it... Sometimes these things can bring people closer!!!

honestly, I get that surprises are fun, but this whole thing feels a bit overblown; it's just Amazon, not Santa's workshop being compromised or something. if your cousin peeks at the list, maybe you guys can have a laugh about it and turn it into an inside joke? also, aren't there more ways to surprise them beyond just online shopping like wrapping gifts creatively or setting up a random 'gift hunt' could work wonders; chill out and embrace the change a little. surprises are nice sure, but sometimes knowing someone’s thinking of you is already enough for most people.

I get that it's annoying when things change up like this, but let's be real.. it's not the worst thing ever! 😁 Surprises are fun, sure, but knowing someone's picking something out thoughtfully for you is also kind of cool. 🎁 Plus, maybe we just need to roll with it and adapt a little?? this might be Amazon's way of pushing us to connect more directly with our loved ones about what they want. You can always try some old-school methods like calling them up and having a chat about what they’re into these days. Sometimes, just being open about gifts isn't all that bad!

Honestly, I kinda think you're overreacting a bit??? Like, come on, Amazon tweaking their policy isn't the end of the world; Yeah, surprises are fun and all that jazz, but it might not be such a disaster if your cousin figures out what you're grabbing for them. People spend too much time worrying about keeping things secret; sometimes it's nice to just enjoy the gift without all the sneaky business!

have you considered that maybe this 'policy tweak' by amazon might actually help avoid duplicate gifts? :p
