Highly motivated
The story
i just joined this fast-paced tech startup and wow, everyone here is like super driven. they've got this kind of energy that's almost contagious, but also a lot to handle. honestly, even though i'm really motivated myself and passionate about what i do, keeping up with their level of urgency and drive is exhausting me. i'm trying to adapt to this intense culture without it draining me entirely; sometimes I wonder if I'm the odd one out for feeling this way.
working 12-hour days seems normal here. every time i think i've done something great, someone else tops it within minutes. it's not that i'm not used to high expectations or working hard, it's just different when everyone around you seems to breathe work like oxygen. hearing them talk about 'bandwidth' as if we were all machines makes my head spin sometimes...
my previous job was busy too but had balance. i'd leave work at work most days, but here? it's like taking your laptop home is an unspoken rule. we've got unlimited vacation (cool in theory) except who actually uses it? taking time off feels kind of taboo when everyone's clocking insane hours.
i'm kinda torn... love what we're building and the innovation is wild but managing stress so new doesn't burn out completely isn't easy! maybe it's about finding personal boundaries in this hustle while still contributing fully ?? can they coexist comfortably?
