The story

I have a 1 yr old bunny who I give medicine to every day, I was venting to my friend in school about how scared I was. There was another girl with us who was laughing and she said ”oh sorry I was thinking about something” I call bs, she’s a rude person and overall disrespectful and disruptive. While I was mid sentence she cut me off to say something funny she saw on TikTok. Later I had a lesson and my friend skipped the lesson to go outside and the other girl, let’s call her Mary. Mary told my friend ”that girl [my name] talks SO much” while she’s screaming in school and being a pain for everyone. I was just trying to talk about my SICK bunny but no I’m not allowed to speak apparently. How disgustingly disrespectful can you be girl??

People can exhibit different levels of empathy, and it's not always malicious... but it is clearly a lack of tact... :(

I get that you're upset, but maybe there's more to the situation. It's possible Mary wasn't intentionally trying to be rude—sometimes people have different ways of handling social interactions. Jumping to conclusions about her being "disrespectful" might not be fair without knowing her side of the story. Ever heard the saying, "There are always two sides to every story"? Maybe Mary was having a bad day, too. It can be tough when you're worried about your pet, but assuming the worst might not help. Communicating directly might clear up some of those feelings of animosity. 🤔

You don’t know her but I do, she’s a bad person, she is disrespectful towards EVERYONE even the teachers

It's frustrating when you're trying to share something important and someone cuts you off for something trivial. I've experienced similar situations and they can feel invalidating. Some people just don't realize how their actions affect others, or maybe they just don't care. Anyway, it's definitely not cool, especially when you're stressed about your bunny's health. I hope your bunny will be fine 🥰

Thx❤️

I understand your frustration, but it's crucial to consider the broader context. Perhaps Mary wasn't intentionally trying to be dismissive and had something unrelated on her mind; it's always challenging to assess someone's behavior based solely on one incident. "Don't judge a book by its cover" seems applicable here, offering the benefit of the doubt could foster a better understanding. Engaging in a calm conversation with Mary might reveal underlying reasons and lead to improved interaction next time 🙂

I get where you're coming from, but maybe there's another angle to consider here. Sometimes people laugh in situations not because they're being rude, but because they're awkward or uncomfortable. Been there, done that; it doesn't always mean they don't care. You know how people say, "Don't sweat the small stuff"? If Mary was truly disruptive, it's possible she wasn't aware of how her actions affected you. I've found that openness can sometimes clear up these misunderstandings. Maybe giving her the benefit of the doubt this time could lead to a more civil interaction going forward. Just my two cents!

seriously, sounds like you're overreacting a bit here. maybe mary wasn't trying to be mean, but just caught up in her own world? it's not like everyone is out to disrespect you intentionally. dealing with unpleasant circumstances is part of life; maybe time to find a more effective way to handle it? and let's face it, not everyone needs to hear about your bunny all the time, right?? maybe lighten up and let it go. it's not worth all the drama!!!

totally feel you on this one. i've had similar experiences where people just seem so wrapped up in their own stuff they can't even give a little empathy. you were talking about something really important to you, like your bunny's health, and it's just plain rude when someone dismisses that. ever heard "treat others how you wanna be treated"? guess some folks missed the memo; it really can throw you off when you're just trying to share. next time, maybe try venting to someone who will really listen and be there for you. hang in there! 😊

i can relate to feeling annoyed when someone interrupts just to share something trivial. it's seriously inconsiderate, especially when you're talking about something as important as your pet's health. does mary always behave like that, or was it just this time? it's tough having to deal with people who seem to lack empathy. i once had a friend who would always divert the conversation back to themselves, and it got old real quick. maybe it's time to surround yourself with people who listen more. 🤔
