i think my girlfriend is cheating but i can't prove it
The story
Lately, I've been feeling uneasy about my relationship. My girlfriend seems distant, like she's somewhere else even when we're together. It's in the little things: those late-night texts and calls she says are 'work-related' but just seem off to me. I mean, who gets work calls at 11 PM on a Saturday? Then there's this whole thing about her being vague about where she’s been after work. When I ask, I get answers that feel rehearsed or too convenient. It’s not adding up, you know?
The cherry on top was during date night last week. We were sitting there enjoying our dinner when out of nowhere she called me by another name - one I've never heard her mention before; My heart sank a bit. But here's the thing: I'm not jumping to conclusions (or at least trying not to). We’ve been together for over two years now, have shared so much and I know how hard it can be to confuse names especially if you're stressed or distracted. Still, the doubt lingers because this isn’t some isolated event but part of a pattern that's becoming impossible to ignore 😕.
I’m just not sure what to do next without any tangible proof or evidence. It's eating away at me yet confronting her feels daunting because what if I’m wrong? Or what if I'm right... How do you even approach someone you care about with something potentially this damaging? In my gut, a warning bell is ringing but my head thinks it's all paranoia playing tricks on me. Relationships require trust as their foundation and here I am facing cracks forming in ours.
