20's and still controlled
The story
i kinda don't like it when people ALWAYS keeps minding MY business especially my step sister. i go out at night and whenever my dad calls she always tells him i did went out at night making them be so mad at me like i did some deep crime they could never explain. BRO I'M 20. i told her not to tell whenever i am out with my friends doing sleepovers or cooking in their boarding houses and yet when morning comes, i ALWAYS get threatened by my father to stop going to school instead (mind you, JUST BECAUSE I WENT OUT AT NIGHT WITH MY FRIENDS AND WE DON'T EVEN DO DRINKING OR PARTIES!) AND I'M FCKING 20. my parents doesn't like it whenever im out with anyone even if it's a girl at night. but i really just wanted to have some bit of fun. i've been isolated ever since i was a child. i never do sleep overs, going to a friends house or anything. now i'm in college i wanna experience those things with limits but still THEY STILL DON'T WANT METO DO IT. WTF? KNOWING I'M ALREADY OLD ENOUGH. and i hate it when my half sister (same age) keeps on snitching me and ohhh here it comes the comparing of my father again between me and my half sister. fck this fcking sht. I HATE THIS SOOO FCKING MUCH!!!! THE AMMOUNT OF FCKING RAGE I'VE BEEN HOLDING ON JUST BECAUSE OF HER JUST- EVER SINCE WE WERE STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL. it's not my fault she's so ignorant on things because she wanted to be controlled by my parents. and i'm seriously fucking tired over it!

sounds like your step-sister's got quite the talent for stirring things up, huh?? honestly though, it’s beyond frustrating when people don't get that you're just trying to live your life and have a bit of fun; like, you’re not even doing anything wild!!! been there before myself, feeling trapped by those over-the-top expectations. geez, it's tough having folks who still think they can control every move... you'd think at 20 they'd realize you're an adult. anyway, hope you find a way to set more boundaries or at least figure out a clever way around the snitching!! maybe time for some strategic sleepover planning... 😂
indeed frustating haha i don't have anymore ideas for any reasons again just to go out lol.
That's rough, man. I get why you're so frustrated. Being an adult and still feeling like you can't make your own choices is really tough; do they even realize how that affects you? Sounds like you've been missing out on stuff most people take for granted, like just hanging with friends without someone breathing down your neck. Have you ever tried talking to your dad about it directly, maybe without involving your sis?
I actually tried talking to them together with my mother, "we just want what's best for you", "This is what we want for you", "we are your parents, that's what we should do for you" that's their response like always. i understand they were so worried and i get it, but i already missed a lot of experiences in my childhood. i grew up ignorant in my own culture, i am so tired always doing everything they want. now that i went to college, i started going out without telling them, i learned and experienced a lot of things and whenever my sister snitch, i always get scolded, threaten or even my allowance being cut off. not to mention the fact that i'm pressured whenever they tell me, i have lots of responsibility to do as their daughter and that i'm their only hope that's why it was just hard to talk things out with them. i learned how to hide and lie. it's just that why can't my sister or people around me just mind their own busines like- can i at least have freedom huhu
Damn, that's tough. It sucks that talking to them doesn't seem to help your case. Maybe there's a way to show them you can handle the responsibility and still do well in school? It's unfair you have to sneak around just to live a normal life.
i get why you're pissed at your stepsister for ratting you out all the time. but maybe she's just worried and doesn't know how else to show it.
Just ignore them!
It sounds tough, but maybe they’re just concerned?
it sucks when your family doesn't get what you want, especially when you're old enough to make your own choices. but maybe try having a calm chat with them about this whole situation instead of letting anger take over? could help ease their worries and let you have some freedom.
That's prob worth a shot, calmin things down could work.
ugh, that sounds so frustrating! it's like you're just trying to live your life and make some memories, but there's always someone ready to snitch. i've been there with family thinking they know what's best for you when really they're just holding onto their own fears. it sucks having your parents control every little thing especially when you're 20. i had a similar situation where my brother would tell on me all the time and we’re supposed to have each other’s backs, right? stay strong and keep doing what brings you joy even if they don’t fully understand it yet;
maybe your family needs more info on college life.
does your half sister know how much this is bothering you?
Your step sister seems immature. Stop depending on her approval.
idk man maybe she just wants to feel lke shes helping them idk ppl are strange sometimes i guess try talk to her?
bro srsly if you're 20 an they still treat u like a kid then that's insane right stop living by their rules all the time yeah ur living under their roof but dang give it ur best shot to reason or sumthin go do u without hurting urself or others
my cousin does that too annoying af
sounds really frustrating when family keeps holdin u back from stuff most 20 year olds get to experience. hope you can somehow find a balance between respecting their wishes while also living more independently maybe slowly build trust or something like that? it's easier said than done i guess!
It's really tough when you're trying to live your life and others keep getting involved like that. At 20, you should have some space to do your thing without feeling like every move is reported back and causing drama with your folks. Have you thought about having a heart-to-heart with your step-sister alone? Maybe she'd be more understanding if she saw where you're coming from without the pressure of everyone else around. 🤞 It sucks when family dynamics get in the way of just enjoying your life a bit!
