Manipulative parents
The story
just got back from a weekend at my parents' place and wow, the little things they do to try and steer me are getting even more obvious. it's like they're playing a game of chess and i'm just figuring out I'm on the board. so we were gonna go eat out saturday, and guess where mom wants to go.... yep, that italian joint I've never liked much. i mean, who doesn't love pizza right? but not when it's all cheese and no toppings; anyway, i went along with it cuz hey, family time's important. felt kinda like eating cardboard though...
and then there's dad, bless him. we're sitting in the living room having a casual chat about work life balance or whatever, next thing you know he's saying how his colleague's kid is doing great at this new tech company. subtle, right? not really... lol standard parental hints still baffle me sometimes tho... they’re not outright saying stuff but you feel it hanging there like an invisible script. sometimes I wanna tell them straight up my life choices ain't up for debate. i get it they're worried or whatever but... cmon it's 2026! anyone else have this whole low-key manipulation vibe happen when they're home?
