Queerplatonic relationship
The story
so here's the thing. i've been in this queerplatonic relationship with my best friend for some time now, and while i cherish it deeply, it's sorta messing with my head a bit. neither of us really know what we're doing or where our boundaries should lie; it's like we're walking through uncharted territory together, a space where traditional labels don't quite fit. there's this constant worry that one of us might accidentally cross into romantic or sexual territory without intending to... which is not what either of us wants! yet, sometimes our interactions have this intensity that makes me question if maybe there's more lurking underneath the surface? i'm not sure where we draw the line between being 'just friends' and something else entirely... ugh!
the other day we were just chilling and talking about random things, when suddenly there was this moment: something passed between us, like an electric current. it left me wondering: should i say anything? should we talk about it, or just let it be? every conversation seems loaded with hidden meanings now and honestly it's exhausting trying to decipher them all (especially when you overthink as much as i do!). part of me thinks i'm just imagining things though... projecting fears onto situations that are essentially benign.
but then again, do people in close friendships feel like they need to define what's happening? draw lines so neither person crosses them unintentionally? i can't help but feel pressured to find clarity amidst the ambiguity!!! perhaps it's because society finds comfort in neatly categorized relationships...? meh, maybe i'm rambling too much here; just needed to let it out somewhere safe! advice from anyone who's been here would be appreciated.
