What to do when you miss someone?
The story
hey folks. i just had this wave of nostalgia slap me in the face like a cold wind on a hot day 😅 so my best friend from college, we were close, you know? thick as thieves. those days felt never-ending. but then life happened, jobs and cities pulled us different ways, and it's been seven years... wow time flies huh? today one of our favorite songs popped up while I was doing dishes and bam, i was right back to those carefree days when we'd sing along without a care in the world; no dot i apologize! now i'm stuck with this weird feeling that something's missing. ever had that?... wondering if reaching out is a good idea or if too much time has passed.
in college, we'd spend hours debating whether pineapple belongs on pizza while 'Bohemian Rhapsody' blared in the background. sometimes we get caught up thinking things will stay the same forever but clearly life has other plans. we were so close and shared everything… even our deepest fears and dreams; maybe that’s why it stings more now realizing we're not each other's go-to person anymore. maybe it's silly to want to bridge that gap after all these years but who knows, perhaps they feel the same way?
the urge to send a text just saying 'hey' is fighting against logic telling me people change… i mean seven years can do a lot to someone. what if they're not who I remember or they've moved past all that fun stuff we held dear? shoot even their number being the same is a gamble... anyways it just kinda feels nice thinking back on those times and wanting to at least try reconnection rather than wonder forever what might be lying dormant like embers waiting for some spark...
