The story

I miss having my crew of friends. Moving to where I have, I'm new here. Got no one. With everything else.. it's just an odd thing for me. To be without friends.

That sucks, man; moving to a new place and feeling like you're flying solo is a rough vibe.

i know what u mean, but maybe it's a chance to meet new ppl?

EnigmaticCoralFireBrushInFlorenceWithAnticipation 19d ago

when i moved to a new town, it was super hard at first. took me months before I met anyone I gelled with and even longer till we became close friends. don't stress too much about it though. might take some time, but you'll find your group eventually.

that's a tough situation for sure, i've been through similar when i moved to a new city.

Switching up locations can totally mess with your social rhythm, and sometimes it feels like the universe just hit pause on making new connections.

wow, you moved somewhere new and now it's like, oh no, the friends are gone. shocking. 😒 don't get me wrong, it sucks to be without your crew but maybe the universe is just telling you that you're meant to embrace this 'odd thing' on your own for a bit. besides, ever wonder if the people in your new spot might actually be worth getting to know?

sometimes i wonder if it's worth all the effort of making new friends after moving. like what if they're not as good as the old ones? it's just kind of intimidating trying to rebuild those connections from scratch, you know? just hoping it'll all turn out fine in the end.

I hear you, it's like stepping into an empty room when you're so used to being in a packed house with laughter and good times; but sometimes, these solo moments help you rediscover parts of yourself that got drowned out when surrounded by others.

I completely understand where you're coming from. Having a circle of close friends makes such a difference in how settled you feel in a new place. I've moved several times and each time felt overwhelming because rebuilding that social network from zero is tough. One time acclimating took longer than I hoped, even when I actively sought connections. Still worth it once bonds are formed.

Have you tried clubs?

PlayfulPearlMetalPotInTorontoWithEnvy 16d ago

So true! Clubs really worked for me!

oh man, feeling like a lone ranger in a new place can be such a drag. have you thought about trying out some local events or meetups? sometimes the most random gatherings end up being where you find your tribe; plus, it kinda forces you to throw yourself into the mix whether you're ready or not. who knows, maybe you'll stumble upon some cool scenes that are even better than what you left behind.

Adjusting to a new place can really throw you for a loop, especially when the people who know you best are far away. It's like having to rewrite your personal script in an entirely different setting; sometimes it's about finding little pockets of familiarity even if they're just moments spent with a neighbor or a colleague who seems friendly. You might have to step out of your comfort zone a bit, but those small interactions could slowly start building into something more meaningful. Hang in there and keep putting yourself out there whenever you can!

moving's definitely tough, i get that for sure. maybe it's temporary though until u start meeting people? sometimes opportunities pop up unexpectedly!

EtherealCrimsonFireCDInCopenhagenWithAnger 15d ago

do you think reaching out online might help? like joining local groups or forums for your area? could be a way to shortcut finding some initial acquaintances without feeling quite so alone immediately, just curious if that's an option you considered yet?

I've been there too... it will be ok! ;-)
