how to stop being paranoid?
The story
moving to a new house has got me on edge. every little noise at night shoots my fears up sky high. i never thought such trivial sounds could mess with my head this hard. it feels like i'm constantly looking over my shoulder just waiting for something to happen, even when everything's totally chill. maybe it's just the unfamiliarity of this place or some kind of instinct kicked into overdrive? seriously, can't even listen to footsteps in the hallway without freaking out; it’s draining as hell.
i thought moving would be all exciting and fresh, but man was i wrong. sure, there are moments of fun but the consistent tension is killing the vibe. thinking that everyone around here’s a potential threat ain't doing me any good either (and yes, i know that's extreme). some nights it gets so bad i can barely convince myself to fall asleep without jumping at every creek and shadow from outside.
my thoughts spin endless 'what-ifs.' like dude: what if someone climbs through the window? what if burglars make their move while everything’s quiet? i'm tired of living in this loop of unnecessary threats though! gotta figure out how to relax and feel secure in my own space.
