The story

My therapist told me that it's pretty possible that I have some traits of autism, and I don't know a lot about it.

Yes, I know, "google it". But I wanna know if someone have some resources as books, movies, docs, or something about it.

Thanks.

Hey there! It sounds like you're on quite the journey of self-discovery :) It's great you're reaching out for resources; it shows you're proactive and curious! I’ve heard that some folks find watching shows or documentaries about autism helpful because they can see real-life examples and better understand different perspectives.

Just an idea: "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" is a novel that gives insight into how someone with autism might view the world: it's an interesting read if you have time!

It's truly commendable that you're taking steps to explore and understand potential aspects of your identity, such as traits commonly associated with autism. 🌟 While diversifying knowledge through various media can indeed offer valuable insights, it may be beneficial to focus on credible sources that provide comprehensive understanding, perhaps beginning with clinical literature or personal narratives :)

exploring the possibility of having autistic traits can indeed be both enlightening and daunting; it's commendable that you're seeking to learn more about it! understanding autism is a complex task as it encompasses a spectrum, each individual with unique characteristics and experiences... and thinking about yourself in particular, in order to better understand who you are, is quite an exercise!

Hey, it sounds like you're sorting through a lot of new information which is a solid move to understanding yourself better; sometimes the journey itself teaches us more than the destination. It's super important to take things slow and digest bit by bit, just like how you learn anything new in life. I remember when my cousin started looking into stuff about autism – she found that joining local support groups really helped her connect with people going through similar experiences; might be worth checking out!

While I understand the importance of researching, I think it's crucial to remember that everyone is unique; no two people with autism are exactly alike, so relying solely on portrayals might not always paint a full picture.

honestly, it's like walking into a maze with dim lighting when you're trying to figure out what autism traits might mean for you because the spectrum is so wide and personal experiences can differ massively; maybe chat with people who've tread that path before or consider online forums where folks share real stories?

hey, it's awesome that you're diving into this and looking to learn more 🚀; it can totally change how you see things. one resource that's helped me is YouTube channels run by people with autism themselves - they give a real firsthand look at their experiences. sometimes hearing directly from others who get it makes all the difference!
