The story

Okay, so I'm wondering if any of you guys do this. When I'm in the heat of a conversation, especially when things get tense or emotional, I just can't help it....I start pacing. Back and forth, back and forth again and again. It's like my feet have a mind of their own or something; they can't just stay still! Sometimes I notice people looking at me funny when I do it. Like they think I'm not paying attention cause I'm moving around so much. But man, that's not it at all! Pacing helps me think better, you know? Process what's being said or hit on what I really wanna express. But then there's this other part of me that's kinda self-conscious about it though, right? Like does it seem rude to others? Do they feel like I'm disconnected from the conversation when actually I'm trying to be more engaged by letting off some nervous energy? 🤔 Also since we're being honest here: Could this be messing with my relationships somehow? Like giving off weird vibes or something unintentionally: simply cause my anxiety comes out as pacing rather than chewing nails or fidgeting hands (which is more socially acceptable)? Oh well...time will tell maybe! Hoping one day folks might view these quirks as just parts of who we are while seeing past them toward the feelings behind each movement.
