am I lazy?
The story
i recently took one of those personality tests online, and it labeled me as 'procrastinator type C', whatever that means! i'm just not sure how accurate it is; could it simply be an excuse for not finishing what i start? for a while now, it's been bothering me. all around me, my friends seem to be more productive. eve's launching her new side hustle, mike's writing a novel during his lunch breaks, and there's jacob who's up every morning at 6 AM for a workout routine... am i really becoming lazy or stuck in some endless cycle of procrastination? quotes from famous authors and thinkers are often used to rationalize procrastination, like mark twain's claim about putting off tasks until tomorrow if they can be done today... but is this just perpetuating the habit? franklin once said 'never put off till tomorrow what you can do today', making me wonder if i'm ignoring wise advice from successful historical figures.
there's something inherently frustrating about feeling stagnant. it's not like i'm sitting here doing absolutely nothing. i've achieved quite a bit! graduated top of my class in university, navigated through several challenging career shifts and even managed to maintain a healthy social life over the years. yet, that creeping sense of inadequacy persists when comparing myself to others' achievements or examining my own habits too closely... question marks pop up everywhere!!! perhaps these comparisons are unhealthy?? but they feel so hard to avoid! do cultural artifacts shape our perceptions of laziness??? is there genuine truth behind them or merely societal pressure manifesting itself within such stereotypes?
