Turning 18 can be such a pivotal moment, but I get why it doesn’t automatically bring happiness. College stress is intense and can amplify everything. Don't forget that it's okay to feel what you're feeling; emotions are complex. Have you thought about seeking some support services? They often offer counseling or stress management workshops that might help navigate this tough time.
I completely get where you're coming from. When I turned 18, I also felt this intense pressure to have everything figured out. It seemed like everyone expected me to suddenly know exactly what I wanted to do with my life. Maybe it's something about that age, a kind of expectation overload. It's rough, but it helped me to talk to someone who understood.
Man, hitting 18 m and feeling low is totally a bummer. I remember when I turned 18, thought it was gonna be this big deal but ended up just sitting alone in my room with some pizza and pointless homework. College really piles on the stress too, it's like they don't even care about our sanity sometimes! It's not just you though, lots of folks have those days where everything feels off balance. Keep chugging along! Sometimes getting stuff out by talking or typing helps more than you think.
feelin that too kinda...
Man, turning 18 is such a big milestone and it sure comes with its own set of challenges. 🎂 Being overwhelmed with everything going on isn't unusual right now. But I'm curious, what exactly about college is making things harder for you?? It sucks when school adds to the stress instead of being enjoyable.
Turning 18 can be tough, and I remember feeling similar emotions. On my birthday, instead of celebrating, the thought of adulting hit me hard. I spent the day overthinking every little thing.
Turning 18 can really mess with you, like suddenly there's all this expectation to act all grown-up. For me, it felt like being caught in a storm without an umbrella: everything hitting at once with no shield. College on top of that is just intense, trust me. Maybe try finding little things that make you happy or calm, like taking walks or blasting your favorite music. It won't fix everything but sometimes small breaks help keep the overwhelm at bay.
i guess it happens sometimes?
yea i feel u bt maybe try 2 relax more idk
sounds really hard but maybe focusing on college could help
sometimes it feels like society kinda builds up turning 18 like it's gonna be this huge shift, but in reality, you're still figuring things out just like before. i get the frustration with college too, it can feel so relentless with deadlines and assignments piling up constantly. have you tried diving into a hobby or something you really enjoy to take your mind off things for a bit? even just short breaks can help recharge when everything feels too much. what part of college is bugging you the most right now? classes themselves or maybe something else?
oh man im totally with you here! when i was in college i wrestled with those feelings too. and on top of that my roommate was always blasting music which made studying impossible!
dude, 18 is weird 'cause you're supposedly an adult but you still feel like a kid inside; it's like a total mind game. all this hype about growing up can feel super overwhelming when reality doesn't match the expectation. does college make you anxious about future stuff or is it just the workload drowning you??? either way, man, don't carry that weight alone... talk to someone or even scream into a pillow if you need.
I understand these feelings are intense right now. However, turning 18 doesn't automatically mean you have to have all the answers or feel happy all the time. It might help to consider looking at different aspects of your life one at a time instead of trying to fix everything at once. This overwhelming period could just be a phase that will pass.
While it's challenging feeling low at this pivotal age, perhaps considering new activities or hobbies could help lighten the load.
maybe it's just a phase that'll pass?
have u tried talking to anyone bout this? lyk a friend or counselor maybe they can help
felt similar last year tbh
