What is romantic attraction?
The story
so i got this thing, right? emotional feelings for someone, like super strong emotions, you know? but then... crickets. just no desire whatsoever to get physical. not even a little bit. and it makes me wonder: what the hell is romantic attraction anyway? how could it be that i feel this way? what's wrong with me? 🤔 puzzled beyond belief over here!!! sometimes it's like there's this invisible barrier between me and actually feeling anything physically... is that normal?!?! am i missing something obvious or is it just some freaky glitch in my feelings??? maybe i'm defective LOL.
ok, so i'm stuck thinking if there's some secret formula everyone else gets but i missed out on.. do people even really know what attracts them romantically?? does anybody have this figured out because i'm dying to understand.. honestly feels like everyone is out there vibing perfectly while i'm over here trying figure which way's up 😑🤷♀️ just wild!!! what's the point if there's nothing inside that pulls you closer??? starting to think we just slap labels on our half-baked emotions, calling them something deep! are relationships anything other than emotional connections plus faking attraction???? nah, that's probably way cynical but can't help feeling it AAAHHHH!!!

idk man ths sounds kinda dumb lol
Ever consider maybe you're overthinking it, mate?
romantic attraction isn't something everyone experiences in the same way lol. maybe you're just not into them as much as you thought.
"just not into em" well maybe but doesn't feel right idk
Wow, it's like you're tapping into a whole mystery of human attraction that's super complex 🤔 I mean, sometimes we perceive romantic feelings as requiring both emotional and physical sparks but maybe it's just not always the case. I totally get wondering if there's some universal "secret formula" to romance; it feels like everyone else has got it figured out. Honestly, could it be that attractions are this mishmash of emotional investments masked by societal norms or something?
maybe ure aromantic?
Man, it sounds like you might be mixing things up. Romantic attraction doesn’t have to always come with physical stuff attached; some people just don't feel that side of things as strong, or even at all. This could be something aligned with asexuality or just how your feelings work uniquely! You're not broken, mate!! Just on your journey to understanding yourself better ✨
that really makes me think... i mean, maybe there's more to this than i realized. could be that i'm just misinterpreting things or something? it's comforting to know i'm not completely alone in this confusion! but what if it's just personal chaos?? feels like a weird puzzle piece missing, you know? sigh. any insights welcome!
It sounds like you're overthinking things. Sometimes it's not as complicated as we make it.
...yeah life's a giant puzzle 😅
yo, you're not alone on this one. i've been through similar stuff and it honestly feels like a tangled mess of wires sometimes 😅 vibes can be complicated, man. i think it's totally fine to not feel that physical attraction while having strong emotions. maybe check out some perspectives on romantic vs platonic feelings or look into the asexual spectrum... could be enlightening or help connect some dots! no need to label it if you don't have all the pieces yet 😊
I felt the same when I was younger. Turns out I was just more focused on emotional connection than physical attraction.
sometimes our emotions don't always line up with what we think they should feel like, especially when society has these big expectations for romantic feelings, so maybe it's just about accepting that your experience doesn't fit the typical mold and that's okay.
u gotta chill lol sometimes feelings r all funky n dont line up cant stress abt every single thing biggest qs = do they make u happy?? then thas all that matters rite?
...maybe happiness IS the ultimate goal!! 🤯
Man, emotions and attractions are wild sometimes. Maybe you're experiencing something like a mismatch between emotional and physical attraction, which is actually more common than people think. It doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you, just that everyone experiences relationships differently. Sometimes society puts too much pressure on the "physical" part of a relationship when really, it's about what makes you comfortable and happy. Don't stress it too much; you'll figure out your own formula that works for you!
Thanks for saying that. One time I was convinced everyone around me was in perfect relationships, and it turned out half of them were just faking smiles or figuring things out too. It kinda reminds me that everyone's dealing with stuff at their own pace. Maybe that's okay! 😊
Have you considered that maybe you need more time?
so wait, have you considered the idea that maybe you're setting your expectations too high? like, maybe society's got us all twisted into thinking romance has to be this full package deal with fireworks and stuff, but real human emotions don't always fit into such neat boxes. ever think maybe it's okay for your feelings not to follow some pre-set formula??? what's wrong with just feeling what you feel and letting it be without overanalyzing every detail??!
I completely agree! I've been with people where it was all emotion at first. The physical part came later once I relaxed.
. no way !!!
maybe it's different for everyone.
? variations in attraction are normal & valid !
