The story

final year of high school is like being in a pressure cooker, right? college apps are breathing down my neck while I’m trying to juggle coursework and all this other stuff. it’s a total mess. colleges say they want well-rounded students but then you have to be a straight-A robot on top of it. like, can we just take a breather for a sec? is this what they call “holistic development”? more like a recipe for anxiety.

and don’t even get me started on the parental pressure. it’s like they think I’m a machine that can just crank out successes. every time I mess up, I can practically feel their disappointment radiating from the other room. it’s all about maintaining that family pride or whatever. did you know there’s research that says this pressure causes a ton of stress for teens? yeah, well, good luck telling that to a parent in a face-to-face convo. they’d probably just shrug it off like it’s nothing.

I can’t help but wonder if all these responsibilities are actually helping me grow or just turning me into a stress ball with legs. schools keep pushing this competitive vibe like it’s preparing us for the real world or something. but let’s be real, is it making us stronger or just sending us into burnout mode? who even knows anymore?
