I like my friends ex-crush n feel qrong about it
The story
I'm currently in high-school n I've been friends with the trans girl named Mars since the 6th grade and he used to like a boy who I'll call Alex . We are all in band, but both of them are in the same section and about a year ago Mars friend told Alex that he liked him n Alex rejected him, so he got really sad n he said and I quote "I'm going to end it all if I don't get fitter or get my new crush to date me" (his current boyfriend). After he said this I felt worse since I had also had a crush on Alex since the 6th grade but had known him since the 4th. So out of guilt I helped him get his current boyfriend and after a few week of them dating i decided to tell him that I had a crush on Alex. After I told him this he was like I thought u had a crush on him but at the time he said he was totally ok with me liking alex but due to exterior circumstances I ended up sitting n being paired for a final project with his boyfriend. So I believe he thought I would start liking his boyfriend so as the year ended our friendship became strained and he pulled away. The summer passed by n we didn't talk at all but about a week ago I texted him n told him that I was sorry n that it was ok if he didn't trust me anymore but that I wanted to apologize before school started n ge said that I had been forgiven but that he still didn't trust me fully which I understand but a few days ago during band camp i tried approaching him but he was a bit distant so I decided to back off. Alex was also there and he started teasing me and I started to tease him back since teasing is my form of showing care to others but as me and Alex were joking around Mars started to look annoyed and start intervening in our conversations. I got slightly annoyed but I didn't say anything since I was trying to patch things up. The next day I kept talking to Alex but I felt so wrong for enjoying talking to him especially infront of Mars. But today when Mars didn't show up I started feeling worse so I tried to avoid Alex but we kept making eye contact and he kept on trying to talk to me and by the end of the day I finally caved n I started talking to him and while talking I felt so happy but when the day ended I felt like a peice of crap but I have tried so hard to stop liking Alex but I always go back to him and he feels like a drug that has me hooked but after leaving his presence I feel like shit because i remember hey he is the reason one of your closest friends doesn't trust u anymore and it's a never ending loop.

Dang, it sounds like you're caught in such a tough spot 😕.
man, high school drama's a real killer sometimes!
dude, that's such a tough spot to be in. it sounds like you're torn between wanting to salvage your friendship with Mars and just being naturally drawn to Alex. maybe give yourself some grace here; it's not wrong to have feelings, but you might want to think about how you can manage them without sacrificing any potential friendships. possibly having an honest conversation with Mars or even seeking out a new social circle for your own peace of mind could help. sometimes connections change and it is okay if things shift over time.
yo, high school drama always feels intense like this with friendships and crushes mixing together. it can be tough trying to balance all these emotions when you're just trying to keep the peace with everyone involved. i'd say it's okay to focus on what makes you happy too; not saying ditch your friends but figure out what your feelings mean for you personally without letting guilt run the show. sometimes talking stuff out might help clear the air or at least give you some perspective, ya know?
That sounds like a really tricky situation. It's hard to balance your feelings with maintaining friendships, especially when emotions and friendships get so tangled up like this. It sounds like you're trying to do the right thing by being honest and apologetic. It must be challenging to navigate these dynamics when you have such longstanding connections with both Mars and Alex. Hoping it gets less complicated soon for you.
idk if this is just me, but it kinda sounds like you're stuck in one of those love triangles where no one really wins; it's like the more you try to fix things, the messier it all gets, right?
Sounds like you're caught in a whirlwind of emotions, and I'm just curious, do you think it would help to set some personal boundaries with Alex, even if it's just temporary, to give yourself some breathing room from the drama with Mars?
Honestly, it sounds like you're in a real soap opera here; high school can feel like it's just one big episode of drama after another!!! But hey, did you ever stop to think that maybe Mars is projecting some of their own insecurities onto you? Everyone's dealing with their own baggage. It's possible that Mars's reactions aren't even entirely about you and Alex but more about how they perceive their own relationships; Kind of reminds me of a time back when I was in high school and my friend group went through something similar. We ended up having a big group chat to clear the air. Maybe try talking openly with Mars outside of those pressured band situations? It might help clear up any misunderstandings so things don't stay tense forever.
navigating the complexities of teenage friendships and romantic feelings is undeniably challenging, especially when entangled connections blur lines. it's understandable why your bond with mars might feel strained; emotional entanglements invariably test relationships. often, communication can alleviate misunderstandings, but there's also wisdom in recognizing when someone needs space to adjust their feelings. perhaps acknowledging that you can't control every aspect will relieve you of some burden. consider maintaining an open dialogue where appropriate and giving him time to come around without compromising your own happiness.
sounds like you’re caught in a real-life soap opera, lol. honestly, it's totally normal to have mixed feelings and be drawn to someone despite the chaos around it. you're doing your best trying to patch things up with Mars, but maybe sometimes it’s okay to just take a step back & let things cool down naturally. at least this will give you some space to reevaluate how important certain friendships and crushes are in the big picture of life 🌈 just remember that high school is such a small part of our lives... things can seem huge now but give it time.
man, sounds like you're caught in a classic tangle of high school hormones and drama 😂. ever feel like everyone's expectations are dragging you around in all sorts of directions? ugh, I’ve been there too, feeling guilty for even enjoying the company of someone when there's tension involved. maybe reminding yourself that it's okay to not have everything sorted out right now could help. trust takes time to rebuild if it ever does, but sometimes just focusing on your own peace can make things a bit clearer.
ah man, it totally seems like you're in a bit of a tug-of-war with your feelings and friendships right now. i gotta say, it's understandable that Mars is feeling sensitive about the situation, given the history between you guys and Alex; but remember that friendships often go through these ups and downs especially during high school when everything feels amplified. have you thought about giving both yourself and Mars some space to process everything? sometimes taking a step back can give everyone the breathing room they need to sort out their emotions without animosity. maybe focus on finding common ground with Mars outside of this triangle, like bonding over something non-Alex related (if that's possible); who knows? it could be an opportunity to strengthen your friendship beyond just shared crushes! 😊
