I wish I wasn't so bad

The story

I wonder why sometimes,

My dreams are better than reality

They feel so very very real,

You can never question their verity

I was in a cafe in my dream,

It had Helluva Boss merch although I'm not a fan!

But being with mom and my brother,

It felt like it was a really good plan

I was in the mall with mom and my brother,

Buying all sorts of figurines and toys

I had so much fun in the store

Me, hanging out with the boys

I was in the assembly hall,

All my friends were all tight-knit and close,

All grinning and talking over,

In the hall, it grows and grows

I saw my friend, he looked so boyish

It made me smile, how joyful he was,

I saw my dearest friend with me,

Being together, I didn't have to pick at straws

It was so good until the moment I woke up,

Mourning the sort of social life I could've had,

My friend didn't leave the school, him still here,

My closest friend, even more closer with me,

I wish my actual self wasn't so bad.

Dreams really can feel so incredibly vivid, can't they? It's like your mind finds a way to give you what you're longing for without the limitations of reality. I had a dream once where I was at this incredible concert with my best friends, and it felt as real as if I'd actually been there dancing. Do you find that these dreams inspire you to make changes in your waking life or maybe spark ideas about how to create similar experiences with your mom and brother? 😊

sometimes it feels like those dream worlds are just teasing us with what could've been, right? i get that longing for things that aren't there in reality. it's almost like they hit this perfect mix of nostalgia and wishful thinking. i used to dream about playing baseball with my dad even after he moved out, and somehow it always felt more real than anything else. waking up is the worst part because you're left facing what's missing or different IRL. idk man, maybe those dreams push us to make some changes or at least enjoy their version of happiness while we can.
