insecured because of my crooked teeth
The story
i feel so insecure because of my broken/ chipped teeth. i have bunny teeth, the other got broken some of my teeth got removed too and i haven't had dentures yet. i felt insecure every time i do my report Infront of the class. i look so confident but deep inside i wanted to hide myself because of my teeth. i was planning to go to dental hospital to make them remove it but of course i still have to wait for days for my dentures to come. and i don't want to go to class looking like Smeagol lol. i also don't want to be absent. so I'm trying to wait for our semester break so i can go to the dentist. some of my pasta got removed too but luckily they have saved it. honestly, i'm insecure on my teeth and my self esteem gets lower because of it, i am a smiley girl, i talk a lot, people calls me beautiful but whenever i face the mirror i feel sooo ugly just because of my teeth. when i was a kid i love candies, i drink a lot of vitamins (which some says it's because of it my teeth are sensitive, it breaks with just the smallest thing). one of my teeth broke when i was eating "Turon" it's a filipino snack, a sugar coated banana wrapped in a spring roll wrappers. when i tried biting it, my teeth got broken they got chipped. they've removed it. now that i'm in college, some of my teeth got broken too, i get insecure a lot. i can't wait for our semester to come so i could go to a dentist and make them fix it, tho i know i have to wait for days or week. not to mention we only have 1 week break but i should at least, do a forced denture. and yes, i only afford dentures, i can't afford crowned teeth, porcelain or zirconia's which i wish i could but i'm born average. i ain't rich:). i just hope no one thinks of me as disgustin or bad just because i have a broken teethor soon to have dentures. i'm also quite scared my boyfriend would leave me because of it.

I totally get where you're coming from; dental issues can really mess with your confidence, and it sucks that something as simple as snackin' on a turon could cause such problems.
i totally get where you're coming from. i had a similar issue with my teeth in high school. mine were chipped from a sports accident and it made me super self-conscious, especially since people called me smiley too. like you, i tried to put on a brave face and kept smiling, but inside i felt terrible. eventually, i saved up for some dental work during the summer break and it helped boost my confidence so much. just hang in there, you'll get through this!
That's really relatable! Hope the dental work helps you as well.
i felt so insecure when i had braces as a teen. it was hard to speak without lisping and made me super shy around classmates. it got better once they were removed though.
oh wow, you're worried about your teeth making you look like Smeagol? 😅 come on, nobody's perfect. teeth can be fixed and if people are judging you based on that, then they need to reevaluate their priorities. waiting for the semester break and handling it all sounds pretty smart actually... shows you're planning ahead. just hang in there a bit longer: fixing this might boost your confidence more than you think!
Man, dental stuff can really mess with your head. It's totally okay to feel upset about it. But hey, don't be too hard on yourself. Lots of people have dental issues and it doesn’t change who you are inside. Do what you can when the break comes around, but meanwhile, just remember that the people who care about you see way past a chipped tooth or two.
Sounds like you're dealing with a lot right now, and honestly, I think many of us can relate to those insecurities about appearances; it's commendable that you're still pushing through your classes and staying committed.
Oh man, I totally feel where you're coming from with this teeth issue. It's tough when something so visible makes you feel self-conscious, especially when you're trying to project confidence in front of others. Have you considered talking to your professors about your situation? They might be more understanding than you'd expect and could help accommodate you until you get everything sorted out. Also, I think it's great that you're planning ahead for the semester break; being proactive is definitely a smart move! 😊 As for your boyfriend, if he's worth his salt, he'll stick by you regardless of any temporary dental issues; love's deeper than appearances anyway. Hang in there!
Man, I totally feel you on that. Teeth stuff can mess with your head so much. My cousin went through something similar and it really hit her hard too. 😬 Waiting for semester break sounds like a plan, sucks it’s a whole process though. Just remember plenty of people have fake teeth or dentures and nobody even notices half the time! Try not to stress it too much, your boyfriend should stick by ya if he’s worth anything.
I remember back in college when I chipped a tooth while eating popcorn at the movie theater. It made me so embarrassed because I thought everyone would notice! For weeks I was hesitant about smiling or talking too much until I could see my dentist. Eventually, I got it fixed and felt more comfortable again.
i hear ya, having teeth problems can be a tough one for sure. it's like people don't realize how much impact it has on your self-esteem until you're going through it yourself. kind of wild how just fixing that could make you feel so much better about facing the world. hope your semester break gives you the time you need to get things sorted out!
You know, it's really tough dealing with stuff like dental problems that can just linger on your mind all the time. It’s frustrating that something so crucial ends up being such a pain to manage, especially when you're juggling college and don't have the resources to just fix it overnight. I wonder if there might be some temporary solutions or community services out there to tide you over till you can get proper work done during the break? Just throwing ideas around here...
I think everyone has something they're self-conscious about... Maybe focusing on those parts that make us unique is harder than it seems? Not sure if that's helpful, just thinking out loud.
you know, i couldn’t help but wonder if maybe we're sometimes our own harshest critics when it comes to things like this. like, we notice the smallest flaws and think everyone else sees them just as intensely. yet, chances are they hardly even notice. waiting until the break might actually be a blessing though, giving you time to mentally prepare too. and hey, your boyfriend is with you for way more than just your smile; true connections go much deeper than that surface stuff anyway! it’s pretty inspiring how you're handling this and pushing through school meanwhile.🤞
same here! my front tooth broke two years ago while biting into an apple and it's been a struggle to not feel like everyone's staring at me because of it. finally got a veneer after ages of saving up for one during breaks between classes.
i get how dental issues can really hit your confidence, but honestly, nobody's judging you as harshly as you are yourself.
It's tough dealing with insecurities about our appearance, isn't it? Sometimes I wonder if other people even notice the things we obsess over or if it's mostly in our heads. Self-doubt can be really powerful.
been there...
I don't think anyone cares that much about our teeth.
Have you talked to your boyfriend about how you feel?
Your concerns are very valid but maybe try to focus on your other features that stand out positively while waiting for the dental fix. It's tough but sometimes helps shift perspective a bit.
That's good advice focusing on positives can help!
