i am lazy
The story
sometimes i just can't help myself. the lure of social media has become this web that entangles my every thought and action. instead of advancing my career and prospects, i'm scrolling endlessly through feeds that offer nothing but momentary distraction. i know there's an issue here, yet finding the will to change often feels like trying to grasp smoke.
my partner has begun to notice, commenting on my lack of drive in conversations which previously offered simple companionship now carry a weight i'm not entirely comfortable with. while they express their frustration with love and patience, there's a lingering sense of disappointment whenever i bring up an opportunity i let slip past because of procrastination. their words punctuate our talks like quiet thunder, unsettling everything momentarily even when intentions are pure and sound.
what haunts me most is knowing how easy it could be to change course, yet failing time and again as tasks coagulate into overwhelming masses instead of easily tackled objectives. it's easy to blame it all on the deluge of information available at our very fingertips, each notification a siren call pulling attention away from priorities set in earnest. sometimes reflecting on these struggles brings hope for tomorrow... maybe not everything needs to feel urgent or suffocating as long-term plans take shape slowly.
