I hate work
The story
So here's the deal. I accidentally replied-all to this big company email that went out about plans for the long weekend. It was just a simple check-in from my boss, but before I knew what was happening, I'd hit 'Reply All' and poured out all my frustrations about the endless work assignments and crazy deadlines. Seriously, who needs this many spreadsheets? And now, instead of enjoying the extra day off like everyone else, I'm sitting here on pins and needles wondering what's gonna happen come Monday morning... will I be that 'oh, did you see?' person by the water cooler? Or worse...will my boss pull me aside for one of those awkward 'professionalism chats'? I've been replaying it over again in my mind; how could I be so careless?!!
I mean, it's not that I'm having a complete meltdown or anything (though it might feel close!), but geez, talk about anxiety overload. All day long I've been thinking: should I address it head-on when we get back? Send out an apology maybe?? But does that just draw more attention to it??! You ever have one of those moments where you wish you could just rewind time? Meetings are already awkward enough without people knowing exactly what's running through your head during them. My coworker Bob once said: "Loose lips sink ships," and boy did that ring true today! Anyway gotta figure out something soon... time to suck it up and prepare for Monday.
