just moved to this new city and man, it's like i'm invisible here. i walk into the office every day and it's like, who even cares? coworkers barely bother with a 'hi', let alone trying to strike up an actual conversation. i get it, everyone's busy!! bustling city life and whatnot...but would it kill anyone to be friendly??? feels like i'm in some kind of ghost town where people have faces but no soul. 😒

so yeah, trying to make connections in this mess is draining me bad. i've tried making small talk, you know...mention whatever's trending or drop a casual 'how was your weekend'. nada. blank stares or worse; those dismissive nods that say 'i hear you' but clearly mean 'i don't care'. feel like an intruder crashing someone else's party. do they even notice when i slip out early because let's be real, what's the point?

mental health taking a hit too... who would've thought loneliness could bite so hard? everyone says give it time but come on...how much freakin' time are we talking here? weeks, months? ever? sometimes i wonder if they just want me to quit already so they can bring in someone else who's local and knows how things roll around here.

and why does nobody prepare you for this crap? all these city guides about nightlife and spots to eat but nothing about surviving social desert!!! so sick of hearing 'you'll settle in soon enough'. sure buddy; put yourself in my shoes and tell me that again with a straight face.

even stop trying after work drinks (guess what?? not invited anyway); whatever... let's see who gives up first: me on them or vice versa.
