How do you know if your girlfriend is cheating?
The story
so i found this random earring under the passenger seat in my girlfriend's car, and i'm trying to piece together where it came from. you know, like playing detective but with less cool gadgets. now, i’m not jumping to conclusions here, like some kind of relationship conspiracy theorist. it could belong to one of her friends. or heck, maybe even her and she just forgot about it (i mean it's possible right?). but then there are these little things adding up that's got me wondering.
she’s been on her phone more than usual lately... texting away and giggling over messages that don’t seem work-related because let’s be real most people don't laugh at work emails like that (unless your job is in comedy i guess!). call me suspicious but it's hard not to notice when technology steals her focus every few seconds. oh, and the other night she went out for what she called a 'girls night' (which normally I'd have no issue with), only this time it felt oddly last minute and a bit suspect given all these puzzle pieces stacking up against eachother.
i'm trying not to sound like one of those paranoid folks who see red flags everywhere but seriously it's stressful. thinking about whether you’ve unknowingly stepped into an episode of some drama series where everyone else knows what's happening but you're left clueless until the season ends. anyways i'm definitely curious about what might come next; conversations coming our way full of thinly veiled accusations? staying hopeful though (better communication has saved worse disasters). figuring out if there's anything going on without going full spy mode is tricky.
end goal here: peace of mind without unnecessary drama eruptions! having that adult talk seems super important right now (hopefully smooth too). i'm approaching this rationally keeping in mind mishaps happen: lost earrings exist independently from assumed intrigue and text chuckles can stem from silly memes rather than shady exchanges.
