False accusations
The story
Someone has falsely accused me of sexual assualt. A lot of people believed it. I no longer go out because I have been assaulted.
I hope it doesn't happen again.
Is there any support forums? Who can I talk to?

man, that sounds rough. i remember this time when a friend of mine faced a similar situation. people were quick to judge before hearing his side, and it just got really messy. it's so frustrating how people jump to conclusions without knowing the real story. try reaching out to local legal aid or support groups for advice; there’s usually something out there. stay strong dude, not everyone will believe lies forever! 🤞
Did your friend get harressed?
i feel you man, somone once accused me too n it was hell.
What happened?
everyone forgot it after a few weeks 😅
Happened to me at work once, destroyed my reputation for a while.
Yes, reputational damage is real.
What were the consequences?
What are your plans now?
I want to stop being scared of being assualted.
Bro, that sounds unbelievably rough. I can't imagine how isolating and unfair this must feel. 😣 Maybe connecting with a counselor or therapist who specializes in these situations could be helpful? Online platforms like Reddit itself have support communities where people are going through similar stuff, and they might give you some solace. Stay strong and keep pushing for your truth!
I cannot find a counselor. I do not like reddit.
wow, that's such a tough situation to be stuck in and honestly it feels like society just amplifies the worst voices sometimes?
Soxiety think you should believe woman.
This is really rough. I wonder why people choose to believe rumors without concrete evidence. It’s troubling and makes someone lose faith in others.
It is easier to conform.
it's really messed up how just one accusation can snowball into something so destructive.
i can only imagine how overwhelming that must be, being in a situation where you feel isolated and misunderstood, but maybe focusing on building a support system with people who know your true character could really help you get through this tough patch.
I do not feel comfertable telling anybody.
It’s devastating when false accusations happen. However, focusing on finding truthful supporters can help navigate the difficult times ahead.
I do not know anybody that I think can support me.
accusations like that are wild. people can be so quick to judge, it’s insane! been in messy situations myself where rumors spread like wildfire... but hey, you’re not alone in battling false claims. leaning on genuine friends who know your character could be solid; they might even help clear the air a bit. maybe seek a legal perspective to see what options you've got for backing yourself up? hang in there!!!
Did you move on?
it's so frustrating when an unfounded accusation spirals into such chaos. people often assume the worst without considering all sides, and that's a huge flaw; i think reaching out to legal aid could be a good step so you know your rights. navigating this through professional guidance might also give you more solid footing; speaking from experience, having someone knowledgeable in your corner makes a world of difference. unfortunately, it seems like society is quick to pass judgment based on the loudest voice rather than the most credible source. keep documenting everything and consider seeing if any community centers or non-profits have resources tailored for situations like this. hang in there!
Most people believe what they are told.
I do wonder if I will ever recover or find support?
People can be cruel sometimes.
People do not verify if something is true.
Navigating this situation requires both patience and strong support systems. Sometimes it feels like people thrive on negativity though they might not know the truth. Finding trustworthy allies should help in rebuilding trust with others.
damn that's some heavy stuff. sounds like a nightmare to go through, especially when people just run with false info without questioning it??? it's important to find your ground again, maybe look for support groups specifically dealing with false accusations or defamation? journaling or venting to someone you trust could also help keep your head clear in all this chaos. remember, not everyone buys into the bs, and the truth has a way of surfacing over time!
I cannot find support groups. It is a witchunt so truth will not come out.
I remember being falsely accused at a previous job; it was hard coming back from that, but reaching out to supportive friends helped me through it. Perhaps there's someone in your life who can offer similar support right now. Hang in there.
Do you manage to not get assaulted?
Had a similar experience at college last year!
yup happened to me once
Can relate but needs more proof!
In high school, something similar happened to a friend of mine. The school sided with the accuser instantly which left my friend isolated and traumatized. It taught us all about seeking legal advice quickly and supporting each other closely through challenging accusations like these.
Eventually, he managed to clear his name with undeniable evidence, showing how critical gathering direct proof is amidst such damaging claims. There should be more awareness of this issue overall so resources become easily available for those facing injustice!
:(
Isn't there legal action you can take?
They will retaliate.
Yikes, that sounds really tough. It's like a no-win situation. Maybe a support group could help you figure out some next steps or at least offer some comfort while you're dealing with this garbage. Have you looked into any online communities that focus on false accusations? They might have some good advice or just be a place to vent without judgment.
I have not found any.
I'm not entirely sure, but maybe try searching for things like "support for false accusations" on social media. Sometimes there are private groups on platforms like Facebook or Reddit. It could take a bit of digging... sorry I can't point you to an exact link off the top of my head. Keep looking though, and maybe something will turn up.
