Why do you hate me?
The story
so i was doing a bit of housecleaning last week when i stumbled upon something that kind of took me by surprise. like, i was just checking out this old family computer we barely use anymore and there it was. a letter saved on the desktop under my name like 'for you' or something. at first, i thought maybe it was some kinda joke, but then as i started reading it, things got pretty intense real quick. it wasn't sent or anything, but damn, the words were harsh. it felt like someone in the family had been holding onto all these feelings about me for who knows how long.
like, i'm sitting there reading accusations made against me and honestly thinking: where did this even come from? terms like 'selfish' and 'never listening to anyone' were tossed around casually amongst other complaints that felt way too personal to ignore. it's difficult to pretend something isn't real when i'm staring right at it in black and white text accusing me of stuff which frankly seems blown outta proportion; makes you wonder if that's really how someone close sees you.
i tried not taking it too personally initially because hey, we all have bad days right? but the part that stuck with me is just how detailed it all got. they mentioned specific instances where apparently i've messed up way beyond my understanding though unfortunately no specifics given; leaves me wondering what exactly could've sparked such strong emotions from them.
of course now there's this lingering doubt every time i'm around family since whoever wrote that clearly never intended for those feelings to be shared openly. should i bring it up during dinner next time we're all together? or maybe just quietly let sleeping dogs lie hoping whomever penned those words changes their mind eventually?
i'm really lost here folks... any insight would be much appreciated because having stumbled upon secrets meant to stay hidden has left me questioning everything about dynamics within our home (and that's not something easily brushed aside).
