A good friend
The story
Life has a funny way of surprising us. I recently found out that a good friend of mine is going to this big event (like a wedding or a milestone birthday). You know, the kind of celebration where close friends are supposed to be there to share in the joy. But here’s the twist: I didn’t make the guest list.
At first, it hit me hard. How could someone I consider a good friend forget to invite me to such an important occasion? It really made me question how solid our friendship actually is. I don’t need to be included to feel valued, but I can’t help but wonder where I stand in their life.
As days pass, I find myself bouncing between trying to brush it off and overthinking what this exclusion means. Was it just a mistake? Did they genuinely forget? Or maybe I’m not as significant to them as they are to me. It’s confusing because we hear all the time not to stress over the small stuff, yet this feels anything but small.
Maybe this is just a wake-up call to reassess how friendships change over time. Perhaps it’s time for a candid chat with my friend? Sharing how I feel and seeking some clarity. After all, any decent friendship should be able to handle honest communication without causing hard feelings. Here’s hoping everything works out.
