How i feel about him
The story
So here's the thing. Lately, I've realized that my feelings for one of my closest friends have evolved into something deeper and it's unsettling, really. I mean, we've been friends for years and suddenly there's this emotional tectonic shift going on underneath the surface. What's worse is that I'm not sure how to handle it. Do I risk our friendship by confessing, or do I just bottle up my emotions?
I'm constantly analyzing every interaction between us: is there a hint that he feels the same? Probably not! But it's exhausting. Seriously, we were at a get-together recently and every glance felt loaded with unspoken words. Yet, I can’t shake off this feeling of doom about what could happen if I express these newfound emotions.
There was this piece in Psychology Today discussing how friendships can survive the 'confession phase', but let's be real...isn't that article too optimistic? Most of the time things go south and game over for both romance and friendship alike. In fact, an old colleague once told me his confession led to awkward silences in their group chats (emoji) so take that as a cautionary tale maybe.
I keep thinking if keeping these feelings hidden makes me a coward or someone who values stability over chaotic change. Yeah well, the classic 'to be or not to be' but forget it, this is modern life I'm juggling here! It’s tough making decisions with your head when your heart’s playing judge.
