The story

You know that feeling when you're super excited to share some good news, thinking your friend would be thrilled for you? Well, that's what happened to me recently. I got a promotion at work! 🎉 Naturally, I couldn't wait to tell my friend about it because hey, isn't that what friends are for – to celebrate our wins together?! So I called them up and announced my big news with all the enthusiasm you could imagine.

Instead of hearing an expected 'That's amazing!' or even a simple 'Congrats!' I was met with something completely different: 'I'm sorry you feel that way.' 😒 Like seriously? What does that even mean?! Are they actually implying there's something wrong with being happy about a promotion? It left me in this awkward limbo where I wasn't sure if they were being sarcastic or if they genuinely meant it.

Now I'm left scratching my head trying to decipher the hidden meaning behind their words. 🙄 I mean, friendships should be a place full of support and understanding, right?! Yet here we are... feeling puzzled instead. Guess I'll have to figure out how to handle this situation tactfully without jumping to conclusions. But honestly, anyone else would've been ecstatic for me! Why is this so complicated?
