Anxiety and numbness
The story
so i'm standing right in the middle of this crazy city, cars honking, people rushing around like they're on a mission. and me? i feel like a frozen statue just gawking at everything happening outside!! why the hell do i feel so damn numb while all this chaos is going down?! it bugs me to no end. 🤷♂️
not gonna lie, it's sort of like a weird out-of-body experience. my feet are on the ground, but my head's off in space somewhere. i can't even focus. everything's just loud and pointless. am i invisible or something now? cause seriously, it feels like i'm fading away right before my own eyes!!!
then there's this anxiety thing going on that's got its claws deep in me!!! i'm talking stomach knots, heart racing, fingers twitching like i've drunk ten cups of coffee! totally sucks that everybody else seems fine and dandy when here i am freaking out for no big deal.
i try to snap myself out of it... put on some music or start scrolling through memes but come on, who am i kidding?? that stuff ain't working anymore. trying to smile through those tears isn't cutting it today.
feel legit insane sometimes like wtf is wrong with me‼️ maybe just need to yell or sleep or both??? anyone else somehow trapped between blah and chaos?

sounds like you're caught in sensory overload, huh?
not really agree
what part, right? lol. it's probably just me being overly dramatic again, like usual! 🙃
have you considered if there's something specific triggering this feeling or is it just the environment in general?
have you considered if maybe it's not about being invisible but rather feeling disconnected from yourself? could this be about something deeper internally?
maybe. i hadn’t thought about it like that, honestly. feels just like i'm out of tune or something. just want to feel like myself again, you know?
yo, i totally feel you on this. that overwhelming sensation when the world moves at a million miles per hour and you're stuck in slow motion...it's like being caught between dimensions; it can be suffocating. i've been there too, standing still while everyone else seems to have their shit together - but trust me, they're just as lost sometimes. maybe try grounding yourself with something familiar? like grabbing your favorite drink or just stepping into a quiet space for a moment to catch your breath. sometimes it's about finding those little pockets of peace even amidst the hustle and bustle. you've got more control than you think ✌️
You know, it really sounds like you're caught up in that classic urban overwhelm. 😵💫 The city's chaos can sometimes be super intrusive, making you feel disconnected and like you're just a spectator rather than part of the action; it's kinda like sensory overload on steroids. And it's wild how when anxiety kicks in with all its physical symptoms, everything else seems heightened too!!! Have you ever tried grounding techniques? They might help anchor you back to the present moment amidst all that noise and commotion. Hang in there!
yeah, it's like this crazy loop of anxiety and feeling detached. tried a couple of grounding things before, but it doesn't always stick. the city's just relentless and my mind's like "nope." feels like treading water sometimes; just trying to stay afloat.
sounds confusing honestly.
just snap out of it!
i see your point but isn't there more to it?
Man, it sucks to feel out of sync with everything going on around you. You ever just want to scream like "HELLO WORLD! I'm here too!!!" 😤 It's crazy how life can sometimes seem like one big noisy mess, and you're stuck watching from the sidelines while everyone else seems to have their act together. But hey, maybe it's not about keeping up with them, you know? Sometimes stepping back instead of charging forward can give you a different view... Maybe it's okay to hit pause for a sec and find your own chaotic rhythm without feeling guilty about it. You're not alone in this weird limbo even if it feels like you're fading into the background sometimes.
i think you might be overthinking the situation slightly. everyone's overwhelmed at times but dwelling may worsen anxiety rather than alleviate it.
I guess it's possible you're just feeling overwhelmed, like sensory overload that leaves you out of sync with everything around you? Maybe it isn't about fading away; maybe it's your mind's way of coping with too much stimulus at once by sort of dialing back. Have you ever tried taking just a few deep breaths when things start to feel too much? It might sound silly but slowing down your breathing can sometimes level out the chaos a bit. And hey, you're not insane at all! It's normal to hit these patches sometimes... maybe try talking to someone who can help untangle those thoughts swirling around and give a bit of perspective. 🤔
Dude, been there myself and it's rough; this whole city-life madness just gets so overwhelming sometimes. But hey, have you tried flipping the script on this? Like, maybe use all that chaos around as a weird kind of energy boost or inspiration to do something wild for yourself! 🤔 Sometimes I force myself to dive into it headfirst instead of freezing up (like doing something spontaneous), and it kinda helps drag me outta that numb zone. It's not easy breaking the cycle, but once you catch that spark it might just change the whole vibe around you!!!
Yeah, maybe I should just jump into the chaos and see what happens! Except knowing me, I'd probably trip over my own feet, ha! But really, thanks. Maybe some reckless spontaneity is exactly what I need (even if it ends in total awkward disaster)!
honestly I get where you're coming from because I have days when I feel exactly like that too. yet what helps me sometimes is just taking a step back and breathing deeply for a minute. maybe it's worth giving that a try idk though.
Sounds like urban paralysis, man. The city's fast pace can mess with your head, making it impossible to keep up. Maybe it's not about pretending everything's fine but recognizing when you need a break from the chaos; sometimes stepping back is the key to finding your own rhythm amidst the noise 🤯
it seems quite self-centered to assume that others have everything together without knowing their circumstances while dealing with our own battles we shouldn't judge them based purely on appearances.
i remember feeling lost during busy times after college... always rushed yet noticing nothing around me except my constant thoughts spiraling everywhere unfocused which made completing tasks hard until I learned centering myself using mindfulness techniques they worked well eventually helped with focusing better while retaining calmness regardless of surroundings!
mindfulness, huh? i've heard it works but even thinking about trying something new feels exhausting right now. maybe i should give it a try someday when i'm not stuck in this mess. thanks for sharing!
cmon u should calm n relax 😒
'm jus sayin has anxiety been diagnosed tho cuz some ppl use word loosely kinda curious bout tht plus how long u felt dis way can make diff right??
why not relax?
