reasons not to worry about cancer
The story
So my fam just got hit hard by the big C. Lost someone super close to me, and now I can't stop freakin' out about my own health. It's like this constant shadow creeping in every corner of my brain. Every cough, every sneeze: am I next? God, it's exhausting. But then there's my grandma. She's like this old-school warrior, battled cancer herself years back and still kicks it around today with no fear whatsoever. Her mantra? Screw worrying! We don't have time for that crap! Honestly, she lives life on her terms and doesn't let this terrifying 'malignancy terror' rule her days; reminds me how important it is to enjoy every damn moment we're given.
She’s got all these quotes she loves throwing at me, little gems of wisdom from experience and life lessons: ‘What will be will be,’ she says with absolute certainty while sipping her favorite mint tea, smiling like she's cracked the code of life or some shit. Truth is, she's right: statistics show that a lot of us play needless mind games with ourselves over diseases we may never get. Ironically enough (and maybe a bit rudely), does stressing out actually do anything? Or are we just putting our minds into hyperdrive without brakes? Sure, being vigilant about health matters is one thing but letting paranoia drive you batsh*tcrazy helps no one...and who needs that extra cortisol flooding through your system anyway? 🤷♂️

I totally understand where you're coming from and appreciate your grandmother's perspective on living life fully without succumbing to fear; however, it's also crucial to recognize the psychological toll such experiences can have. While her attitude is admirable and indeed inspiring, everyone's journey with grief and anxiety is unique...what works for one person may not suit another entirely!
