The story

ok, so i’ve recently picked up painting as my new hobby and lemme tell ya: i'm overthinking every single detail. like, who knew you could get so caught up in brush strokes? i'm constantly obsessed with whether or not each stroke is 'correct'. whatever that means. guys, it’s a freakin’ paintbrush, not a damn magic wand. sound ridiculous? because it totally is. instead of just enjoying the process and letting creativity flow, i find myself agonizing over the type of canvas i'm using or what shade is exactly 'eggplant' purple, ugh... all this nitpicking drains the fun out real quick.

i used to think hobbies were just supposed to be chill time...ya know kick back enjoy yourself but now it's like i've turned painting into some kind of damn scientific analysis session. worse yet trying to show my work to anyone has become impossible 'cause all i do is see flaws! fear looming large whispering 'they'll notice this mistake!' it seems like every small smudge or accidental streak turns into some major drama in my head (as if other people are detail-oriented psychos too). reminds me when sheldon cooper ‘fun’ wasn't in his vocabulary... god why am i doing this again? ah yes relaxation yay 😂
