how to unlove someone?
The story
so i recently discovered that my longtime partner had been keeping a huge secret from me. finding out was like being hit by a freight train?! i feel totally betrayed!! the thought of all those past memories makes it hard for me to move on. every time i remember things we did together im filled with confusion and doubt; it's tough when someone you trust suddenly feels like a stranger. we're talking years of investment in this relationship and now it feels like its crumbling down?!!! i'm trying to be objective about all this but man it's just difficult you know??? there's this huge feeling of emptiness... should I try to unlove them, if that's even possible?? i'm stuck between wanting answers and wanting distance, between holding onto good times and cutting ties completely! i've always believed in honesty as a fundamental principle in relationships 😬 so being left in the dark feels like an immense violation of trust!!!! but still i want to find some peace or hope here, maybe learn how to unlove or forgive enough to move forward? something inside tells me theres still hope ☀️

I can understand why you're hurt, but sometimes secrets are not meant to harm...
i totally get it dude, been there too. secrets suck bigtime?! maybe consider asking why before ya act tho
yeah, you might be right. asking "why" feels like it could give some clarity. it's hard when emotions are all over the place though! figuring out the next step is tough still...
man, i totally get how you're feeling with this whole situation, it's crazy difficult to deal with a betrayal like that, especially when you've put so much into the relationship?
wow, that sounds like a really tough situation to be in. honestly, finding out something like that from a longtime partner can seriously mess with your head and heart; i've been there where trust gets shattered and you're left picking up the pieces. it's natural to feel all kinds of mixed emotions - betrayal, confusion, longing for answers. what helped me was giving myself some space to process everything without pressure to make immediate decisions. sometimes taking care of yourself should come first before deciding how to handle the relationship or those lingering feelings. 🌻
yeah it hurts but think bout errors from both sides. communication is flawed both ways sometimes.
I'm so sorry you're going through this... It's like your whole world gets turned upside down; I've been there and it feels like a never-ending loop of confusion and betrayal!!! Finding balance between wanting answers and needing space is genuinely hard. The emotional investment makes the decision to let go ambiguous. Maybe it's worth considering what's best for your own peace of mind right now... Like, sometimes you have to focus on healing yourself first before figuring out how to move forward. And unloving someone can feel impossible at times, but sometimes unraveling each thread of emotion helps regain a sense of control or closure! Keep believing there could be hope in whichever path you choose 🌈
man, that's a rough situation... trust is the cornerstone of any relationship and when it gets shattered like this, it's hard to know which way is up. i totally get that feeling of your memories being tainted; it's like everything you've built suddenly has this shadow over it. maybe try focusing on what you truly need right now, whether it's answers or space, to help clear your head a bit? sometimes taking small steps instead of trying to figure everything out all at once can make things a tad bit more manageable... i hope whatever path you choose brings some clarity or peace your way.
dont be so dramatic its just life ppl make mistakes n hide stuff deal wit it
wow, that's a really tough spot to be in. it's hard when trust gets shattered like that, and yeah, it feels like everything is turned upside down; but maybe there's more to uncover here? i mean, sure secrets suck majorly, yet sometimes they're held out of fear or even misplaced, y'know. makes me think about this one time my friend had a similar situation and after digging deeper they actually found some relief in understanding the 'why' behind it all... but who knows if that applies here🤔. trying to figure out how to unlove someone sounds exhausting (if that's even possible), so maybe focusing on what's next could help alleviate some of that burden; not holding onto guilt for their secrecy might lighten the load too! who knows what this journey will lead to, right?
yeah, i get what you're saying, it's really hard to know the full story sometimes. maybe there's more to it and understanding 'why' could help. i'm kinda tired of being in my head all the time though! focusing on what's next might just be what i need? who knows where this will go...
Absolutely agree with your feelings. My partner hid something big too and it felt awful.
While betrayal is never easy to reconcile with, people aren't perfect...none of us are. Sometimes we imagine our partners as these ideal beings who conform perfectly to our needs and expectations without realizing that they have their own struggles too. Relationships often require understanding more than judgment! it’s a process that necessitates empathy amidst disappointment.
i get that no one is perfect but this secret? it shook me to my core. how do i even begin to empathize when i'm drowning in betrayal?? it feels like my whole world flipped upside down!
It's interesting how humans process love versus logic. You know keeping your sanity over such matters isn't easy at all! is unloving even practical or beneficial? Maybe the key lies somewhere in managing attachment rather than severing it completely... Perhaps keep open dialogues while maintaining personal boundaries, though individual situations invariably differ.
