ignoring me
The story
I've been grappling with a perplexing situation at work. For several years, a colleague and I have maintained what seemed to be a harmonious relationship. We've worked together on multiple projects, exchanged ideas, and even shared some interests outside the professional sphere. However, in recent weeks, there's been an inexplicable shift in how we interact. My colleague has begun to ignore me both during work hours and beyond; it's as if I've become invisible.
This sudden change in behavior is unsettling! It feels like hitting a wall every time I try to communicate or collaborate with them. Our teamwork, which was once seamless and effective, now faces obstacles due to this silent treatment. Projects are delayed because the usual back-and-forth discussions are nonexistent. I'm left wondering if I've unknowingly offended them or if there’s an underlying issue I'm not aware of?
This uncertainty is affecting my mood significantly....it's challenging to focus on tasks when you're burdened by unanswered questions! Should I confront them about it? Or would that only exacerbate the situation?? In this industry where collaboration and open communication are crucial for success, being ignored can hinder one's professional growth considerably!
Quoting this one I like: "Great things in business are never done by one person." This resonates deeply with me now more than ever. Maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships should be everyone's priority yet when experiencing something like this it’s difficult not to question your standing within the workplace dynamics!
