I've been thinking about this a lot, and I just need to get it out there: Can dogs have eating disorders? I know it sounds strange at first, but hear me out. Our furry friends have emotions too, don't they??? And if that's the case, could they possibly suffer from psychological issues related to food, just like humans can?

I have a dog named Bella. She's adorable and very lovable, yet her relationship with food has always puzzled me. Sometimes she'll refuse to eat anything for days (she's not sick according to the vet) and then suddenly gobbles up everything in sight. It's bewildering!!! You can imagine how much I've worried over her changing habits; I'm no stranger to midnight brain-storming sessions where you question everything.

I've read somewhere that animals may exhibit signs reminiscent of human eating disorders... Excessive food intake, refusal to eat altogether, anxiety behaviors around meal times-they all seem interconnected? But are we anthropomorphizing our pets here or is there something more profound going on?

I'm no expert in veterinary sciences or animal behavior dynamics; still, it's crucial for us as pet owners to understand them better. They say love knows no bounds--Our responsibility towards them should mirror that unwavering commitment.

So there's my 3 AM vent... Has anyone else here dealt with this perplexity before? What did you find out? Have you seen behavioral shifts tied specifically towards consumption patterns??? Thankful for any insights.
