rewind button
The story
yesterday, i was clearing out my attic and came across a bunch of old stuff that i'd completely forgotten about. it was like navigating a time capsule from the past, things covered in dust and memories long buried. among the clutter, there was this one VHS tape with no label on it. naturally curious (or maybe just procrastinating), i decided to see what was on it. as soon as i popped it into the player, memories came rushing back like an uninvited guest at a party. it turned out to be a recording of a family gathering from when i was just a kid. back then, everything seemed so simple and carefree.
the video wasn’t anything special really.... just ordinary moments captured awkwardly on camera but somehow watching it sparked this avalanche of emotions inside me. there were goofy dances in the living room, my grandparents laughing at some inside joke, even mundane chatter which now feels like snapshots of happiness. it's funny how we never think much of these moments until they become distant echoes... and here I am, wishing for a rewind button so desperately just to live those days once more.
life has changed so much since then and not always in ways I wanted or imagined. there's this gnawing feeling sometimes! that things could have been different if only there were some magical way to go back and relive bits of my past (maybe make better choices along the way). seeing everyone's faces on that screen made me realize how time has slipped away unnoticed between routine days and missed chances. Who knows where we'd all be if we had second chances right? Maybe I'm just being sentimental or silly but wouldn't it be nice? ugh... nostalgia can be such a double-edged sword. 😅
