Why does my mom yell at me?
The story
weekends should be my time to chill, but nope. This Saturday started off all wrong. I was finally enjoying some peace when my mom decided to blast through the silence like a tornado, yelling about chores I apparently neglected. Seriously, what triggered this explosion? She launched into a whole rant, filled with her “why didn’t you” and “you should have” questions. Our usually calm home turned into a chaotic mess of noise and drama.
To add fuel to the fire, she piled on more complaints about my supposed lack of contribution to the household. Maybe if she communicated her expectations clearly, we wouldn’t be in this mess. But no, getting ambushed with angry accusations only left me confused and a bit ticked off. I mean, her dramatic flair was something else, like she was auditioning for an Oscar.
If only family dynamics could follow some workplace efficiency rules, right? Clear communication is key in any setup. But when it comes to family, it feels like I’m trapped in a maze with no map. I went from feeling frustrated to introspective, trying to figure out how to deal with all this emotional chaos. It’s exhausting trying to stay detached while also wanting to make the right choice.
I get that chores are part of the deal in any household. But honestly, why does it have to turn into World War III every time? Can't we just keep it simple? Instead of the over-the-top drama, I’m thankful for my mom at the end of the day. She pushes me to learn and grow, even if her methods could use some serious work. Just wish we could skip the yelling and get straight to the point.
