friendship goals
The story
Friendship goals are changing faster than I can keep up with. My best friend and I used to have this amazing synergy, with regular meetups and a shared love for brainstorming over coffee while chatting about the latest tech trends. Now, though, it feels like we’re on totally different paths. It’s like we were partners in a startup that suddenly can’t agree on which way to go.
Our once solid friendship model is fading away, just like those app features no one uses anymore. Conversations have turned into lukewarm exchanges that don’t align with what I’m trying to accomplish professionally or emotionally. I can tell her enthusiasm for our weekend hangouts is dwindling. You know, the usual excuses about work or new interests that don’t involve me.
Now I'm left wondering if we need to redefine what friendship even means for us or if it’s time to just cut our losses. I’ve tried to bring up solutions like open communication and setting new "friendship KPIs." But honestly, it feels like our individual goals just don’t mesh anymore.
Ending a long-term friendship is always a bit messy, and I’m questioning whether trying to create new "friendship metrics" is worth it. Should we keep throwing energy at this fading relationship or just accept that sometimes things change? It’s a tough call.
