The story

Just had a long conversation with my best friend, and I feel like I've been smacked in the face by reality. Apparently, some of my actions have not been very « friendly »…who would've thought? My friend pointed out behaviors that don't exactly scream 'Best Friend of the Year,' like forgetting birthdays or being too self-centered during our chats; maybe they were right?! It's hard to swallow such observations especially when you thought you were doing okay... It makes me wonder about what really qualifies someone as a good friend. Do we need constant affirmations or grand gestures? Or perhaps simple courtesies that we've ignored over time due to busyness?!!!!

I find myself questioning the fundamentals of friendship 🤔: Am I really attentive? Do I listen enough to others instead of just talking about myself all the damn time? Honestly, analyzing every little thing is driving me nuts! But maybe it's necessary to focus on areas for improvement. Remembering small but significant details could make all the difference. A recent article mentioned that empathy and active listening are critical components for maintaining strong alliances: perhaps they've been absent from my repetoire without realizing it! It'd be interesting to hear how others handle this balance between life's hustle and maintaining meaningful connections.
