Trust yourself
The story
you know how sometimes you have to trust your instincts, even if it means facing uncomfortable situations? well, recently i did just that. a long-time friend had been acting in ways that didn't sit right with me. Maybe it was small things like dismissive comments or bigger issues such as lack of transparency but they were compiling into a mountain of doubts within me. i've always believed that clarity is key in any relationship. after trying to push these feelings aside too many times, i finally decided to confront them about it. during this conversation, I meticulously laid out my perspective and concerns but despite my polite intent, they seemed taken aback by my candidness; since then, i've been receiving the cold shoulder treatment from them.
perhaps part of me wonders if i should have approached the matter differently or not at all but another part acknowledges that open communication is paramount for personal peace of mind. when one senses potential breaches in foundational trust, addressing is necessary because concealing only generates internal unrest over time. balancing honesty with maintaining cordial ties can indeed present challenges but history has shown me time and again: bottled-up grievances only snowball into bigger issues later on (often with irreversible consequences). the decision wasn't easy yet was imperative to protect mutual respect and authenticity between us moving forward. so there lies my conundrum... did i do the right thing? 🤔
