why does everyone leave me?
The story
it's happening again and i can't help but feel trapped in this cyclical spiral of emotional turbulence. every time i let someone get close to me, it seems they end up drifting away, like a ship caught in the tide, no matter what efforts i place to anchor them down. it's almost as if there's an unseen force at play, propelling them away from my orbit. though the reasons often vary superficially, there's a noticeable pattern underlying each departure. i find myself reflecting on whether it's something inherent in my behavior or perhaps an ingrained flaw that pushes others further away the more vulnerable i allow myself to become. sometimes, it’s triggered by small misunderstandings that snowball into bigger issues; while other times, it seems to stem from changes in priorities or circumstances between us that i have no power over.
recently, a friend i'd grown quite fond of started creating distance seemingly out of nowhere. she was someone i could share everything with (from mundane everyday things to my deepest fears) yet now her presence feels more like an illusion than reality. our conversations have dwindled down from vibrant exchanges full of laughter and understanding to sporadic messages lacking any depth or warmth. attempts to reach out fall flat with responses that are curt and devoid of the connection we once shared; perhaps it is their own life pulling them in another direction...something they cannot control either. whatever solace we found in one another's company feels distant now: a whisper carried away by the winds of change leaving me questioning my role yet again in what's slowly becoming a recurring theme in my life's narrative.
