fears about death can really mess with your head... It's like the more you try not to think about it, the more it sneaks its way in. 🤔 When I was a teen, I had this phase where I'd get freaked out by the thought of just disappearing one day and not being around for everything else going on. It felt huge and overwhelming at night too, when things got quiet. But sometimes what helped me was focusing on simple stuff that made me happy during the day, like playing with pets or hanging out with friends. That way, those thoughts didn't feel as scary later. Maybe find something small each day that brings a little joy?
you knoq at night i recall the day till i fall asleep. its just i feel like it happen automatically. actually i hsvr more serious problem with pets and friends. its like im the clown and the person who make my friends laugh , but also the ignored one. thats also one of the things i cry about at night. js i always think about it. im js well now , but like months ago it affected me badly.
It's rough feeling like you're putting on a show and still being overlooked. That invisibility can sting hard, especially when you're already dealing with heavy thoughts alone at night. Maybe try to connect with your friends in a more genuine way? Like, be real about how you feel instead of clowning around all the time. Easier said than done, but it might help them understand where you're coming from. Late nights can make everything seem tougher too.. hang in there.
You know, dealing with thoughts about death can really feel like navigating a minefield; it's tough to escape that fear sometimes. It's understandable you're feeling this way, and it sucks not having someone you trust to talk to. Maybe exploring creative outlets could help distract your mind before bed... Writing or drawing as you process these feelings might ease some of the pressure. Just hang in there, and know those feelings are valid even if they seem overwhelming right now 😉
thanks a lot , <3
Death anxiety is a real mind trip. Been there, pal. I remember nights where I'd stew over that same fear and it felt paralyzing. Sometimes it's like your brain's on this awful feedback loop that just won't quit. Have you tried keeping a journal next to your bed? Get those thoughts out of your head and onto paper before sleeping!could make all the difference!
no drl , i dont like creatve and daily stuff , journals make me super uncomfortable like it recalls memory. thanks a lot for responding
Death is a natural part of life, and worrying about it won't change anything. Maybe finding peace in that inevitability could help ease your anxiety.
peace isnt my thing . actually what make my fear horrible is getting a return saying its normal. js thank you so much for responsing for my idiot commnet
It's not an idiot comment at all. You're sharing something real and that's brave. If peace isn't your thing, have you thought about things that make you feel safer or more grounded before sleep? Maybe finding some kind of comfort or routine could help!
I can understand your fear, but it's important to try to focus on living life fully now.
yup a lot ,... <3
wow, that's a heavy fear you're wrestlin' with. death's such a big mystery and it can feel overwhelming when you're constantly thinking about it, especially at night when everything's supposed to be chill. i get why you'd hesitate to open up about it... not everyone wants to hear existential crises at bedtime lol. but hey, giving those strays a little help might ease some of your worries, even if it's just knowing you’re making their world a bit better while they're here.
yeah , animals make my days. you know what there is a baby squirrel in our classroom we keep as a pet , like its trapped. its only me who feed it , and the boys are using it as atoy and the teachers take pictures of it , girls play with it. no one care about it. im happy that i had a whole lecture about taking care after animals ........... so lets say im the only one who take care of it , if i die it will die too....
that must be real tough, feeling like everything rides on your shoulders. caring so much for that little squirrel already makes a huge difference in its life though. maybe try talking to the people around you about taking responsibility too? it could relieve some of the weight you're carrying.
You know, it's really tough grappling with those thoughts, especially at night when everything feels so eerily quiet. 😔 I totally resonate with the struggle of not knowing what happens next; It's like you're caught in this existential loop that just refuses to end sometimes... When I was younger, the unpredictability of it all would cause me panic too. What helped a tad was writing things down or drawing about my fears. Sometimes externalizing them can lessen their grip on you and make the chaos in your head seem more manageable; definitely doesn't solve it completely, but small steps are better than feeling entrenched in fear always. Keep pushing through!
you got it , you understood my feelings .. thanks a lot... yeeuupp <3
Your concerns about death and the uncertainties around it are quite intense, but you may find comfort in knowing that these thoughts aren't unusual among people your age! :)
It's a universal human experience to ponder our mortality, sometimes causing us sleepless nights or moments of anxiety. Strikingly, many find solace in acceptance and thinking like, "Death is unavoidable." However, I get it that it's not easy to just accept and move on; the weight of such thoughts can be heavy. But here's a thought: nurturing more life-affirming activities (immersing yourself in nature, picking up new hobbies, or engaging with inspiring stories) might provide a gentle distraction and give perspective on this existential worry. Life will always have its share of questions we can't fully answer; meanwhile, finding joy in small everyday moments might make those nighttime fears less daunting.
I used to feel the same way when I was younger. Once I saw a stray cat get hit by a car and it haunted me for days. Over time, though, I learned to cherish the moments we have with our loved ones rather than dwell on the end. Maybe you will find some comfort eventually too.
yuss lets wait till the time pass, thanks for passing by <3
It's a challenging situation you're experiencing, and I can see why it's causing you distress. The idea of death, whether our own or someone else's, is pretty overwhelming if you think about it too much. Sure, people might brush off your concerns with "everyone dies" as though that knowledge makes it easier to handle! But really, for many people, grappling with this is a part of being human; it's scary because it's unknown and uncertain. There's this thing called existential anxiety that some folks talk about in psychology... More common than you'd think among teenagers figuring life out. Maybe exploring these fears through journaling or art could help channel your thoughts in a different way? Just one option.
love , journaling aint my thing. i hate arts and craft a lot. it gives me anxietty super fast............thanksss a lottt <3
i hear ya, i kinda felt that way too like last year... but then i realized that everyone has fears and its about what you do with them. try focusing on what makes u happy or distracts u instead of fixating on death all the time.
That's real talk right there! Focusing on happy things can make such a difference.
I totally get where you're coming from! When I was around your age, I had a stray cat who got sick and I couldn't do anything about it; that feeling of helplessness was overwhelming. Just know you're not alone in these thoughts. Sometimes trying to focus on helping the animals you love can channel some of this anxiety into something positive, like volunteering at a shelter or fostering pets if possible. It might give you some sense of control and purpose 😊
you know, it's kinda wild how those nighttime thoughts always seem to sneak up on us, right? they say that our minds get super active when everything else is quiet. maybe it’s because we finally have space to think about the stuff we brush off during busy days. anyway, worrying about death seems like a big part of growing up. sometimes focusing on stuff you enjoy can be really grounding too, like hanging out with animals or hobbies that make you feel alive in the moment. you got this!
yea i get ur point dude but like stressing bout it wont help ya know? try n relax a bit maybe talk 2 someone else even if they're not trusted adults
dude, thinking about death is a crazy spiral, right? :( I try to avoid...
yup
so you're basically losing sleep over something everyone experiences, huh? seems like you're not alone in having a mild existential crisis. not sure if you'll find this helpful but maybe try thinking about how you can make the most out of each day, since worrying doesn't change what will happen eventually anyway?? life is unpredictable, and dwelling on death could be stopping you from actually living your days to their fullest. also feeding that baby squirrel must bring some joy right? focus on those small wins for now... at least it's something tangibly good you can do.
yeah , what if i die tmrrw :)
Honestly, nobody knows when their time's up and it's kinda wild and stressful thinking about it too much. Every day we wake up is another chance to do something good though, maybe just keep doing what you love even if tomorrow's uncertain. Life's short (hopefully not that short), so might as well just roll with it for now.
It's understandable to be scared of death, especially when you're young. But maybe finding solace in making memories now could ease that anxiety?
idk man maybe if you can find sumthin else to think about before bed like listening to music or reading? might help a lil bit yknow
When I was your age, I had similar fears. Watching my grandparents pass away really shook me up. It helped when I started journaling my feelings before bed so they wouldn’t keep spinning in my head all night.
yo, it's kinda wild how our brains just latch onto that fear when we're about to sleep but have you ever tried writing those thoughts down before bed?
