Strange but Not?
The story
Hey again. So I've been staying with a friend and her mum. She always asks if we've eaten when she comes from work, before she serves herself. This morning she asked if I had eaten breakfast or just had my tea flat? Is it strange that it hurt me because I tried to think how many times my dad ever asked me that. None. I can't explain it. I used to cook and serve everyone first and eat last. I was used to it. I still kinda am. Can something so small be triggering? It just took me down a bit of a rabbit whole

it's wild how something so simple can hit you hard, right? but yeah, definitely relatable; those moments make you reflect on what you didn't get. makes sense it would stir some feelings. no shame in that 💔
man, that's totally understandable. small gestures like that can feel like a punch to the gut when you've never experienced them in your own family. it's funny... sometimes it takes seeing kindness from someone else's family to realize what was missing in ours. i remember visiting a friend's house once where they all did that whole "wait till everyone is seated" thing before eating. felt so weird but also kinda warming? just shows how those seemingly tiny details can mean a lot more than we think 🧐
Wow, that's really touching... Do you think it highlights just how much those little kindnesses can matter? It's incredible how something as simple as someone caring if you've eaten can bring up all those feelings. Was it a shock to realize your friend's mum showed that concern so naturally??? Makes you wonder about all the things we might take for granted or never even experience; it's like discovering a new way people show love or care.
i kinda get it but maybe its more about how ur feeling overall. can be triggering if ur dealing with other things too. think about all the stuff around it, not just the breakfast thing.
It's fascinating how the seemingly mundane actions of others can hold such profound significance in our lives, isn't it?
