fear of losing
The story
So I was just flipping through some old stuff, and guess what? Found an old journal entry from like a few years back, you know, when life was kinda different??? Well, this entry hit me harder than I thought it would!! It was all about my fear of losing this person who means so much to me... Like really. I poured out all these thoughts and worries onto paper and kinda tucked it away in the attic of my mind. Flash forward to now (a couple of years later) and not only has that fear remained...it's, like, intensified!!! 😳
It's wild when you think about it. Back then, things were top chill: fewer responsibilities, more carefree days. Fast forward to now: OMG adulting is hard right?? Life's changed big time... And looking at those words from the past? It's kinda surreal how they've come back with such force... I'm talking SUPER INTENSIFIED emotions here...
When you're young and stuff is happening around you nonstop...fear kinda gets lost in the background noise. But as life's moving along fast-forward style... whoosh!... those feelings grow deep roots inside your heart✨. You start thinking about new circumstances: job stress, friendships shifting in weird directions (sometimes even fading away), family obligations creeping up like ninja surprises 🤯. Each one sort of pouring gasoline on those initial fears...
The tricky part?!? Knowing these fears are wayyy stronger NOW THAN EVER! 😅 like seriously!! seeing that worry written down in ink years ago? Who knew today's reality would amplify it tenfold??? This post ain't no therapy session but reflecting over my current hustle n' bustles compared vs previous more relaxed phases? eye-opener!!!! 👀 Keeping optimism alive tho cuz what's life without hope??? Gotta stay positive & take small steps ahead 💪
Ah 'nd there we go... venting feels oddly therapeutic y'know... Had anybody else experienced something similar where digging up past writings offered surprising reflections or strengthened pre-existing beliefs/fears?? Would love hearing stories like these while battling personal monsters!! Peace out folks ✌️

how do u cope??
Ooof, coping is tricky... I try to remind myself that it's okay to feel overwhelmed and kinda let those emotions flow instead of bottling them up. Journaling seems to help sometimes too, writing it all out like a mini brain dump. Little things like that bring some relief, you know? What about you?? How do you handle it?
I think you're overreacting!!!
Hey!! I totally get it might seem that way, ya know? But sometimes those feelings just bubble up... and end up feeling super real to me. It’s like reliving old stuff but with extra layers now! Thanks for chiming in tho 😊
It's all part of growing up.
man, i totally get what you're saying about finding old stuff that hits deep. but dude, you’re kidding me if reading that journal made things worse? 😆 like sure, adulting's tough, but come on... aren't we supposed to be growing or whatever they call it? maybe it's more about managing those fears than letting them run wild; those old entries can be a good laugh sometimes! life's full of curveballs and who needs a boring ride anyway? 💪 just keep your head up and roll with the punches 🤘
sounds like you've been through a lot and those old journal entries can be really revealing, huh?
Totally get what you're saying about past writings digging up old emotions! It's like reading a chapter from your own life story and realizing the plot twists. 😅 I remember finding an old letter I wrote to myself during college, worrying about my future career... Now I'm living it with all its unexpected turns! It’s wild how those words can suddenly become fresh again. But maybe reflecting on them helps us see how far we've come and gives perspective on what really matters amidst the chaos of adulting. Hang in there...you're not alone in this!
Whoa, right? It's like a weird time machine ride with those past writings. Reminds me of this sketchbook I unearthed from high school. Had random doodles and some deep stuff about who I'd want to be in the future... Fast forward and my life's kind of zigzagged all over! 😂 But yeah, seeing how things unfolded does give some wild perspective while adulting chaos swirls around.
Dude, I totally feel you!!! It's insane how feelings from the past can suddenly team up with current stresses and hit you like a freight train... Life's got this way of throwing curveballs that make us go like "wait, what???" But hey, flipping through old journals seems almost like a time-travel moment where you're both seeing and feeling everything all over again; it's bizarrely powerful! Like, I've found myself staring at pages thinking about choices I made or woulda made differently; that wild spiral between then and now really gets you thinking... Seriously trippy but also kinda enlightening?
Haha, totally agree—life's surprises are like plot twists from a teen drama, right? Old journals are wild. They can make you second-guess choices and wonder "what was I even thinking back then?" It's like being your own history teacher or something! 😂
Wow, it's insane how those old fears just creep up and get all tangled with new life stresses. It really shows how much things can intensify as we grow and responsibilities pile on. Sometimes it feels like adulting just layers up the stress until it feels almost unbearable, you know? Maybe reflecting on these old entries is kind of a blessing in disguise. Perhaps they remind us of our strength and how far we've come (even if it seems like we're walking a wild emotional tightrope). Each "adulting" phase kinda brings its own chaos, but maybe tapping into that past resilience can give you a little boost to face today’s challenges head-on! 💪 Keep pushing forward; I bet your future self will be proud of what you've handled.
yo, totally get what you're saying about digging up those old feelings; it's like finding a relic you didn't even know held so much power. funny how past fears can just sneak up on you like that and make you question everything! 😅 i remember going through something similar when i stumbled upon an old diary from my teen years. the stuff that hit me hardest was how i used to stress over things that seemed trivial now, like school drama or crushes lol... but then i'm also dealing with dreams i've ditched because of "adulting." ugh, it's a weird thing to process. guess all we can do is ride the wave and keep our heads above water, right? thanks for sharing your story: makes ya feel less alone in this tangled web of feels!
it's kinda interesting reading your post and thinking about how our fears seem to size up right alongside us as we age. like, when we're young, life feels a lot more black and white...things seem so straightforward, but with every year that passes there's all this new stuff packed into the mix! it's funny how past worries can suddenly flare up when you least expect it. maybe it's because we have more to lose now, or at least it seems like it some days? i guess confronting those ghosts from old journal entries shows just how far you've come...even if those worries loom larger. ever thought about trying mindfulness or meditation? folks say they're good for grounding yourself amidst life's chaos. anyway, keep your chin up, focusing on incremental wins might ease the weight of those amplified emotions!
not sure i'm with you on holding onto those fears, though. it's like you're giving them a free pass to hang around rent-free in your head, you know? maybe fiddling with some mindfulness or distraction tricks could loosen their grip a bit... kinda shift the focus away from what-ifs to what's actually here and now. just a thought! ✌️
A few years back I had a similar situation where finding an old note made me realize how fearful I've become about certain aspects of life too. It helped me see how far I've come since then but also identified areas needing improvement.
I can relate to your feelings about things intensifying over time as life's progressed. It's crazy how adulthood brings new challenges and amplifies our worries! However for me personally journaling has been incredibly helpful: like reflecting on past entries helps ground myself amidst those amplified fears!
wow, i hear ya on the wild intensity of those old feelings creeping back up; like a ghost from the past with new tricks up its sleeve! college was def a time when i stressed about relationships unraveling more than anything else. 😅 but hey, adult life's giving us some bizarro plot twists now! ever think maybe you're stronger because you've faced it twice? reliving that stuff might just mean you've grown in ways you didn't see before;;. sometimes revisiting gives fresh insight and who knows...might find silver linings where we least expect it, ya know? ✌️
Honestly reading this makes me reflect on my own approach towards handling fears around losing loved ones amidst changing life dynamics! While adulting certainly contributes its share of moments that ramp up anxiety levels writing down emotions especially during tough times helped immensely.. Not only is it cathartic but analyzing old emotional patterns allows confronting longstanding paralyzing assumptions head-on rather effectively.
I wonder if going back to those old journal entries could be a chance to see what has changed, not just in your worries but also in your growth as a person.
Totally feel you on the whole "reliving old stuff with extra layers" idea! It's crazy how life sneaks up on you and suddenly makes everything seem way bigger. I once found an old note from my college days and it was like reading a letter from a different person... but also exactly the same person, if that makes sense? 😅 It’s like those buried thoughts have been subconsciously guiding us all along. Maybe it's about using those revelations to carve out some space for change or acceptance in our current lives. Gotta take that insight and spin it into something positive... even when adulting feels relentless! Keep going: sometimes looking back shows just how strong you've become, right? 🌟
Sounds like you've hit on something really profound with those memories. It's pretty wild how past fears can grow alongside us and mutate into something new; it's almost like they're adapting to the environment of adult life, huh? The cool thing is, writing about it now might act as a "snapshot" for your current self too. Maybe in a few years you’ll look back at this entry and see just how much more you've evolved and conquered since then 🙌 You’re building a map of your growth without even realizing it!
years ago, i found this old notebook while moving and it felt like opening a time capsule; scribbled inside was all these teenage dreams about conquering the world. nowadays stumbling on that feels bittersweet, more challenging than motivational. kinda makes me question whether past fears actually evolve into those adult anxieties or if life just forces them to resurface with added intensity; might be interesting to think about what specifically triggered the intensified fear for you? it's odd how our minds work sometimes!
So true! It's like our past dreams and fears are still hanging out in the back of our minds, just waiting to pop up again. I think adult life layers on so many new challenges that it magnifies everything we once worried about. Maybe that's part of what makes fear so intense now? It's weird how even old thoughts can hit you with a whole new meaning, right?
it seems like finding that old journal entry was almost like opening a time capsule that holds not just memories, but unresolved feelings as well; perhaps it's not so much about fearing the loss of someone special now, but rather how the accumulation of life's responsibilities exaggerates those fears.
ehh idk,,, seems ur stressin bout sumtin dat every1 deals wiv eventually,, can't change da fact ur gonna lose peeps bt u trynna foresee outcome?? cmon living present man... keep enjoying friendships ya already cherish whilst they last ain't worth frying ur mind ova thangs uncontrollable lol 🤔✌️ stay chill brooo!!!
It's not about frying my mind, trust me... just stumbled on something wayyy old and couldn't help the feels! 🤷♂️ It’s wild when you realize some stuff never changes, even with all the distractions around. But yes, gotta work on staying chill!! 🙌
The intensity you're describing could stem from imagining worst-case scenarios evolving unfoundedly beyond reality's grasp; perhaps practicing mindfulness might ease unwarranted concerns turning heavier producing unnecessary distress?
Yeah, definitely trying to focus more on mindfulness... sometimes worries can spiral quicker than we realize.
