I'm in love with you
The story
so, like most folks at some point in life, I've got this massive crush on someone, right? I decided to put myself out there by writing a love letter. And believe me, for someone not big on words, i thought it was quite the masterpiece...except for the part where it’s still tucked away in my room. every day I think about giving it to them but then I freeze up like a deer in headlights.
It's not like i can't talk to them or anything; we've known each other for a bit. But trying to actually say those three little words ‘I'm in love with you’ is another story entirely. There's always that awkward fear of what if things get weird? Everyone's watched those romcoms where things backfire.
almost feels like every time we meet I'm walking around with this elephant in the room (only it's a secret I'm carrying). and each day it just gets more bulky: like trying to hide a giant pink tutu-wearing hippo under a rug. all my friends are like 'just do it!' as if it's that easy!
then there’s the anxiety of wondering how they'd react...would they laugh? freak out? run five miles away from me? see? These thoughts are like pesky mosquitoes buzzing all around when I'm just trying to enjoy chilling on a summer night.
