my heart aches
The story
For over a year now, I have been entangled in the throes of a long-distance relationship. Despite our constant communication and video calls, there lurks within me an acute sense of loneliness that clings persistently. Each time we hang up the phone, an inexplicable heartache envelops me! It feels as though a crucial part of my very being is missing!! This emotional discord has grown into something substantial... a formidable weight upon my heart.... The question lingers in my mind: Is it worthwhile to love someone from afar if the emotional toll eclipses the joy that love traditionally brings?
As I ponder this, I cannot help but reflect on personal anecdotes that serve as testament to these feelings... How many times have I felt joyous anticipation before our calls, only for it to be succeeded by profound emptiness? This dichotomy is perplexing and leaves me divided. There's doubt creeping into my mind regarding this relationship's feasibility and sustainability. These tumultuous emotions prompt further introspection, weighing heavily on whether or not this emotional investment yields reciprocation commensurate with its demands: questions arise in abundance!!! The ironic complexity lies in how love can simultaneously enthrall us while slowly chipping away at our fortitude.
