self sabotaging relationship
The story
So, here's the thing: I've been on this relentless cycle of trashing my own relationship by obsessing over the littlest things. It's like my brain is hardwired to nitpick and argue over stuff that honestly shouldn't matter. Yet there I am, escalating tiny disagreements into full-blown arguments as if I'm auditioning for a soap opera! 🤦♂️ My partner has pointed it out during one of those fiery exchanges. Can you believe that?! And now, it's like I'm stuck in a loop trying to figure out why I keep sabotaging what should be a decent relationship. Seriously, what's wrong with me?
It's not like we don't have good times, but these unnecessary arguments just seem to steal the limelight every single time. I mean, come on, do I really need to pick fights over which way the toilet paper hangs or how the dishes are stacked?! It's utterly ridiculous!!! But for some reason, these trivialities end up being center stage during our disputes. 😑 Maybe it's an issue of control? Or am I just using these petty conflicts to mask something bigger lurking beneath the surface? Who knows.
But honestly...how many more pointless quarrels can we survive before everything goes kaboom? I'm questioning my damn patterns right now and feeling like a complete clown 🤡 who's lost grip of rationality. Is it fear that's pushing me towards self-destruction; maybe insecurity? Whatever it is, it's starting to make me look at myself in a whole new light (and not in a good way). What do you even call this sort of self-sabotage where you’re literally tearing apart your own happiness without realizing until it's too late??? Just tired of riding this merry-go-round that seems impossible to get off.
