why is kindness important?
The story
so i've got this friend, right? they're like the nicest person ever. i'm always scratching my head about why they're so keen on helping strangers all the time. even when life's throwing them curveballs left and right, there they are, lending a hand to someone they've never met before. it just blows my mind because if it were me, i'd probably be more focused on dealing with my own issues first before worrying about anyone else's stuff. i'm trying to see if there's some sort of secret sauce that makes kindness worth the hustle, especially when you’re running on fumes yourself.
now don’t get me wrong. it's cool that they’ve got that kind of drive but i can't help but wonder if there's a balance thing going on here or maybe some hidden perks that i'm not seeing. is there something super fulfilling about it for them? does it somehow make their own troubles feel lighter? or am i just clueless about how giving back works? either way, it's puzzling and fascinating at the same time. i mean... i totally get being nice is important but going out of your way to constantly do stuff for others when you've got a ton on your own plate seems pretty wild to me!
