The story

I've got a problem. It's not drugs or booze (thank God), but it sure feels like a mess sometimes. I'm flat out addicted to shopping online, and it's starting to screw up my life big time. 😬 I've tried to kick this habit countless times, but I always seem to get sucked right back in. There's just something about browsing through endless pages of stuff I don't need that gets me all excited. The thrill of adding items to my cart is like a rush I've never felt before.

My partner has no clue about the extent of it yet, which makes me feel guilty as hell. Every time I order something new, I worry they might find out and question why we're suddenly broke or why there's another darn parcel at our doorstep again. It keeps me up at night, wondering if today's the day I'll be caught out.

The worst part? It's not like I haven't tried solving this on my own. Last month, attempted cold turkey (yeah right), but ended up splurging even more because 'it's the last time' (spoiler: it wasn't). Felt pretty low after each binge too - like some kind of sick cycle where joy turns into regret real fast.

Talking about money issues and relationship worries isn't my thing usually; prefer dealing with stuff internally rather than spilling beans here... buuuut guess what? It hasn't worked so far! Maybe if someone else who's been there reads this vent can share how they managed pulling themselves from such madness without losing everything important along way?

So here I am posting anonymously hoping for some advice from strangers because maybe - just maybe - talking openly might actually help break free once forever... before there's nothing left worth saving anymore.
